That’s a possibility if the probiotic is moving some junk out that doesn’t want to be moved. If the person’s intestines are inflamed, then it wouldn’t be surprising if the stuff that was moving out…which is typically pro-inflammatory garbage…did cause a bit of upset.
Usually probiotics don’t cause any problems, but if it’s in the beginning and the stomach cramps are brief, then maybe so.
Good luck and be well.
Kelley
PS. More than likely, it’s the yogurt that is the culprit. you might stick to taking probiotic supplements.

I’m on cephalexin (keflex) for a bladder infection, and i was wondering when I should take my probiotic (culturelle) – right after I take my antibiotic, right before I take it, etc. ?

I AM TAKING antibiotics presently. I also take probiotics in between dosages of the antibiotics daily.
Also drinking orange juice, eating apple sauce, tomato juice.
WHAT ELSE SHOULD I TAKE/EAT?
LIKE NATURAL FOODS.
should I take flax seed oil?

I just need some order in the..ahem..poop department. Since I started dieting (to 1,400 cal. a day) my system has stopped.
They are expensive, so I am not planning to include them in my life. Can I just use them for a while? Will the good “culture” stay with me?

When I take antibiotics I get a really upset stomach, which I was told is because the antibiotics also kill the ‘friendly bacteria’ in the gut.
Is it worth taking probiotics to try to replace the friendly bacteria? Or will the antibiotics just kill them too?
Thanks
