Is it normal to have cramps that make you unable to walk?

I seem to have cramps all the time. Before, during and after my period. I was on birth control to try to regulate my periods but it only made me sick. So I got off of it. I think it made my periods lighter, but I still get really bad pains. I will get a pain that feels like it’s in my vagina and it almost comes up through my butt. It’s a really sharp pain and it almost paralyzes me! I will be sitting and I’ll get a sharp shooting pain and I’ll jump from the pain, but I can’t walk or get up.
My gyno acted like I was just being a baby and to suck it up. But I missed school because of it. I cancel plans with friends because it hurts so bad. It affects my everyday life. I don’t think this is normal.
I get a series of cramps though. They’re different at each cycle. Like before I get my period I’ll have cramps that feel almost like gas pains. Then when I get my period, I’ll have normal period cramps plus the excruciating sharp pains. Then afterwards I’ll get the gassy cramps again.
I read somewhere that Irritable Bowel Syndrome can be worsened by periods, so I don’t know if I have that. My symptoms seemed to match IBS. I know I should go see a doctor, but I just wanted to see if anyone else is like this.

Well that wasn’t very nice of the person to say that to you D:. Don’t worry I get that to, I can’t do anything for 3 days, and it also causes me to throw up because of the pain. Try using some really strong pain killers. Hope this helps.
