I have dealt with IBS for a while now. The only thing that I’ve found to really help is to avoid the foods that aggravate the symptoms. For me I had to stop drinking Mt. Dew completely. I limit fast foods, eating too much and very sweet foods. When I have a flair up my doc told me to use Pepito for several days till it calms down. I don’t think it affects urination at all, at least I’ve never noticed it,
It is important for your doc to diagnosis this as the problem because there are many things that can cause symptoms like this. Good luck

I don’t know if any official research has been done on this subject, but it makes perfect sense to me that probiotics would help to clear acne. Acne is often the result of toxins building up in the body, and the colon is the place where these toxins very frequently collect. It’s a well-known fact that the health of the colon often governs the health of the whole body. By taking the probiotics, you are helping to balance out the healthy bacteria in your colon, which will in turn help to clear out all of the bad bacteria that can multiply over time in there. Fewer bad bacteria = fewer toxins = better skin!

Get tested for intestinal yeast. It is not a standard test when they test for “everything”, the doctor has to request it specifically. Many times it has same symptoms as IBS, but the yeast can actually be treated permanently. It is a spasm condition, so some calming medicines may help. Also, try taking probiotics, live cultures are better, you can find them in natural foods stores. They are pricey, but they help. Exercise works for some, does not for others, IBS varies from person to person. But it still good for you.

Question by Dianna: Is there any REAL treatment for irritable bowel syndrome?
I have been following the guidelines and tried a gluten free diet that didn’t work, I never drank alcohol or caffeine to begin with, I avoid most food and all spices including salt like the plague. I only eat rice, chicken, toast, crackers, mashed potatoes, occasional if i feel good a hot dog without any condiments. To put it nicely, hospital food is too rich for me to eat. I only drink distilled water. I still suffer almost daily, I’m never sure if i feel good enough to go visit family, or even go for a walk. I can feel good in the morning, make an hour drive to a relative and be really sick for the rest of the day.

The last options are anti-depressants and stress management. I don’t believe in anti-depressants. I am depressed because I’m sick, a lot. not because I’m a nut job who who has a weak constitution. Stress management is complete BS in my opinion. As you can image I can’t hold down a job well because I become too sick to preform my duties. Am I stressed? Of course! I completely loathe doing nothing all the time. I love to work hard, but I can’t anymore. I can barely pay my own bills I don’t need some windbag to collect 0 dollars an hour form me to tell me what I already know.

TL;DR i have IBS, i barely eat anything because of it. anti-depressants and stress management is BS to me. I want to know what I can do to get back to work.

Hi,
The best thing you can do is to try to remain stress free.
Stress is the major factor for IBS.
Like, even if you are scared for something. It happens.

I also have IBS. The best product I found for helping the pain, bloating and diarrhea is Digestive Advantage for IBS. It is a chewable tablet that is sold over the counter at pharmacies. If you can’t find it, you can order it over the Internet. A heating pad helps some, as does lying down with your feet elevated higher than your butt. I never heard of a steam filled bathroom. I urge you to try the Digestive Advantage. It has made a world of difference for me and the quality of my life.
