Question by TimTam: Please answer if you have been on a gluten free diet or know a great deal about them?
I went to the doctor because I was getting stomach cramps and diarrhea after eating. He said to go on a gluten free diet to see if gluten is the culprit. I’ve been on the diet for three and a half weeks now and it’s helped with the diarrhea, but I am getting a lot of flatulence. Is this normal for this diet? It doesn’t happen everyday, however I get it quite often.
I’m starting to think that the diet isn’t working and I probably have Irritable Bowel Syndrome. I had planned to stay on the diet for 3 months but now I’m seriously considering stopping the diet.

I dont believe you should stop it right now, however you should change up what you are eating and narrow down which foods make you more flatulant than others. Broccoli, bell peppers and sometimes spinach can do that to you.
The best thing about the gluten free diet is that you are not taking in a lot of starchy foods that immediately turns to sugar. If you need some carbohyrates in your diet try sweet potatoes, brown rice, or oatmeal. You will need to watch what you put on these however.

No it can happen, try some Activia Yogurt or some pro-biotics. They will definitely help you adjust to the diet.

Question by Peter: Probiotics – can you suddenly stop taking them?
Hi,
About to start quite a powerful Probiotic – http://www.nutritioncentre.co.uk/d/19/ProductSearch.html?terms=New%20Chapter%20All%20Flora%2060%20veg%20caps
I am using it with AllicinMAX as I understand it can kill the good and bad bacteria.
It is too expensive to do all the time, so can I just do it for a bit and then stop suddenly or will my body get used to them and need them from then on?
Thanks

Question by Shayde: What foods have fructose in them and how can I avoid them and be healthy?
I’m trying to lose weight, but i have just been diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome that is irritated by Fructose. I’m being sent to a dietitian but was told to try avoid fructose till then.
I know that fructose is the natural sugar found in fruit… so how can I be healthy and lose weight when I need to avoid fruit and things?

What you can do is take a multivitimim 2-3 times a day and there is this juice called LANGERS that has no frutose in it at all.
If you want to avoid it…go to a health food store. The food tastes better and it won’t have those ingredients. That’s the best you can do. Also, organic foods usually do not add those ingredients.
