Question by Question Queen Mentally Special!: If you suffer an anxiety disorder or OCD, has anyone ever falsely accused you of being a hypochondriac?
What’s your experience? I suffer OCD, Anxiety, depression, & Tourette’s. Certain medications for these illnesses bring on either more illnesses, or aches & pains. My doc told me that anxiety is why I’m suffering Irritable Bowel Syndrome. It creeps up on you unexpectedly, & your stomach starts hurting worse & WORSE by the second, & then your digestive system is backed up because you’re constipated with hard stools, & once those come out, it’s diarrhea. 1 time it was so bad that my system was so stopped up that I had to vomit because I was so constipated & bloated. (Sorry to be so graphic, but some people don’t know what IBS feels like. That’s why I’m explaining in detail so you can understand.) You sometimes wonder if that’s the last moments of your life when experiencing this. & That’s so painful it’s NO joke! If I have a task I have to perform, & this pops up, people think I’m a hypochondriac faking for attention, when I’m not. This IBS is DEBILITATING.

Question by Boo Boo: Does anyone suffer from Irritable Bowels Syndrome after drinking alcohol?
Besides not drinking altogether is there anything which would minimise the effect of IBS?
Best answer:
Answer by biochemza Yes, I already have IBS, but I find that drinking alcohol excessively worsens it. I haven’t tried to lessen it, but I would imagine that having food with your alcohol, and drinking lots of water would help…

Question by Ang: I am 7 weeks pregnant and suffer irritable bowel syndrome?
I had very bad diarrhea saturday night and sunday night with bad cramps. I have also been suffering with bad headaches. Last night i had a smear of brown discharge, a bit like what you get before your period is due. This is the second period i have missed but if i wasn’t pregnant saturday would have been my due day (my periods come every 3 half weeks).
This is my first pregnancy and i have only had one doctors appointment and my scan is in may (ages away).
I am worried this could be the start of miscarriage.
Can anyone give me any advice please
Thanks for your answers, i just rang and spoke to a doctor. She said unless i get any more of the blood then i don’t need to worry. Just bed rest (easier said than done) and drink plenty. They don’t have much to say about these things i feel as they know miscarriage is common and will just happen if its going too.
I’ll try not to worry, but its not easy

Question by Question Queen Mentally Special!: Do any of you women suffer Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)-ESPECIALLY around the time of the month?
It’s very disabling for me. I never know when it’s gonna sneak up on me, & it happens SO fast! The pain intensifies by the second. I had an IBS episode @ 2 AM this morning, & usually I feel like I’m losing my life-like I’m dying. It’s so unbearable. & when the symptoms creep up on me in public, I have a hard time getting to use the restroom because most places don’t let you use their bathroom if you’re not buying anything. 1 guy threatened to have me prosecuted. The stuff is so bad that when I doo-doo in public, the doo-doo ALONE will stop up the toilet before I can even wipe. This is my worst nightmare! It started in December. It makes me literally feel like crying, & 1 time I actually vomited. I wonder what I can do to reduce the risk of the symptoms. I eat fibrous foods. Many professionals tell me I need fiber in my diet, so I eat my fruits & veggies, drink water, exercise when I can, & I eat Frosted Mini-Wheats. I can’t deal with this. I just got off my cycle. It’s worse by then.

Answer by BR♥; Have you gotten a second opinion from another doctor that can maybe give you some medication to ease the pain? If they won’t prescribe you anything, would tylenol or advil help? I don’t have this problem and I don’t ever want it by how you described it. Good luck.
