Whole grain is good but gluetin is not. Look on the label you will see it listed. Having have this, you need to eat oats such as Cheerio’s Multigrain. Eat a lot of fruit, berries and fiber fruits nectarines, peaches plums etc. Also drink more water it helps push and ease the large intestine to move the food along the track easier. So try to get more water into you. I know it is hard…also good for the skin. Make sure you get your fruit and veggies in there some how. The fluid intake is important…you will not feel so lousy. Trust me….I have this I am a trained proffessional in the health field and this is what I do, so I know it works…everyday. Make sure you eat yogurt as it has a bit of water in it to push along the food you eat. Stay away from starch-potatoes except yams or sweet potatoes, white rice turns to sugar and anything with flour or high gluten count. Keep away from those foods. All the best.

Question by Addie: Has anyone had trouble diagnosing a digestive disorder, such as Irritable Bowel, Celiac, or Crohn’s?
Ever since I was little I’ve had problems with digestion. I originally thought it was lactose-intolerance, and my GP told me to take Lactaid pills. They worked at first, probably psychologically, then stopped working and was still having frequent discomfort.

Now that I’m 19 years old and Still having problems, I found a gastroenterologist. He scheduled me for bloodwork and a colonoscopy. Today he did my scope, but he hasn’t seen the blood work yet. He says my colon looks fine and suspects I have Irritable Bowel Syndrome. However when I looked up the symptoms for Celiac disase, I have all the symptoms except for osteoporosis, which my mother has. ( We both have digestive issues, as well my her brother/my uncle) I’m almost positive that’s what I have just basing it off that, but my doctor says I’ve been looking at the internet too much, and that what the internet says is Wrong… Has anyone been in a similar situation?? IS the internet, in fact, a Bad reference, even though Every website has the same symptoms listed??? Help!

Unfortunately YES the internet shouldnt be used for self diagnosis.WIll I tell you why you dont have coeliac disease>>Because the colonoscopy would have shown damage to the villi of your lower intestine. This hapens in the disease as the villi become flattened and irritated and this is easily seen on a scope.

Its very likely that it IS IBS(i have it too:)welcome))hope youre ok x

Only medical professionals (Doctors, PAs, NPs) can write prescriptions in the military. If the medicine you want is over-the-counter, check with the local military pharmacy. If they carry it, you should be able to get it from them at no cost with no prescription.

I’m concerned that the probiotic (healthy bacteria that benefit the gastrointestinal tract and boost immunity) supplements I purchase actually have live cultures of bacteria in them. I don’t want to waste my money.

Well, is it?
Also, should young children drink it? I’m guessing the rule is something like with honey; not for children under 1 year. Anyone know for sure?
