Question by Treasa: important question! personal…?
Here are the symptoms:
10 minutes (or less) after eating a meal (no matter what it is, except perhaps plain bread) a person has a BM
When having a BM, it hurts/burns the immediate area

Other info: lactose intolerant and has a family medical history of gallbladder problems, so usually avoids dairy and greasy foods, however, when these foods are eaten, it makes it worse.

any ideas? is this irritable bowel syndrome or something else?
yeah, the anus. just didnt want to get cited for using inappropriate terms. :)

What do you mean by the immediate area? as in the anus? it could be anal fissure, or hemorrhoids (internal/external).

What do you think? Answer below!

Question by Milez: Bowel Movement Question, Please Help! 16 year old Male!!! 6′5 and 145 pounds.?
I have recently (the past few weeks) been having green shits, i thought we’d get right to the main idea. I will eat something and find myself in the bathroom roughly 10 minutes later, which means im probably not retaining any food which cannot be healthy for me. I basically peed green poop today, disgusting yes, concerning yes. I don’t really know what to do yet, i thought mabye asking here before going to a doctor would reassure me somehow, prove me right please. I was just googling this subject moments ago and found myself staring at a list of reasons why this may be happening, which was concerning. •Laxative use

•Antibiotic use

•Medication side effects

•Food poisoning

•Celiac disease

•Ulcerative colitis

•Crohn’s disease

•Malabsorption

•Irritable bowel syndrome

•Bacterial overgrowth

•Infectious diarrhea – especially salmonella and giardia

•Traveler’s diarrhea

•Cancer

is what i found, hopefully i dont have any of these problems as i am not taking antibiotics or any other medications. PLEASE HELP.

It could have just been a mild case of food poisoning. If your body doesn’t absord iron, then you will poop green, that could be another cause.

The fact that’s it’s green diarhrea is concerning though. I’ve found several websites that say that green diahrea can mean there’s some issue. You need to contact a doctor and maybe have some blood tests done.

Good luck and I hope your ok!

Question by crazyfool123: Hi….I have a question about identifying blood in stool…?
I have been having changes in my bowel movements during the last week..same symptoms as Irritable Bowel Syndrome and have been going through anxiety and depression.
Recently, after a bowel movement, I found 3 tiny bright red spots on the tissue paper… but the stool looks normal but I’ve been having bowel movements more frequently but it looks like movements are starting to go back to normal.
Thanks

You could have a hemorrhoid or a tiny fissure. If this keeps up, you need to talk to your doctor.

Question by Aaron: I have a question about Hyoscyamine?
I have this person I have been together with for quite some time, and I was recently diagnosed with IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) and was prescribed to Hyoscyamine and he’s noticed some drastic changes in my personality. I haven’t told him what medication or what my problem is, but he knows I am taking them. I have been losing sexual interest, unhappiness, wanting to stay by myself most of the time and have lost nearly all compassion and love for him and other friends. The thing is, if I’m not taking them I’m in pain from the cramping in my stomach. They make me very tired and uninterested in most activity. What is something I can suggest to my doctor? I have used marijuana for recreational purposes and it helps nearly everything, and the side affects are much better. I live in Oregon, so medical marijuana is legal and is there a specific age to get it?

some of the side effects of your medication my go away with time as your body adgusts to the dosage. You might ask your doctor about this too.
You need to tell your partner whats going on. Not being honest with him may also be why your sex life is going down the dumper. Nothing cools off a nice love life like a big fat lie between partners.
From experience with medications, this has happened to me, odd side effects that gradually wear off.
Be honest with your partner and talk to your doctor about alternative drugs. Soemtimes doctors prescribe the first thing that comes into thier heads, not neccesarily the best thing.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyoscyamine
You might want to read this link about this drug because it lists possible side effects and lack of sexual desire and some of the other things you mention are not listed here.
Maybe something else is going on with you?

Question by regisivjosh7: question for fitness experts or physical trainers?
I’m looking for a protein drink of some sort or something else that can help put 40 healthy pounds of muscle on me. I know I need to eat and workout which I will do as well, but I want something that can add that extra energy and protein in me. I have a couple years to put the weight on so I won’t be rushing anything to jeopardize my health. I also need it to be able to be tolerated by someone who is lactose intolerant or have irritable bowel syndrome. I have taken a lot of different protein mixes but they have gone right through me, so I was wondering if there is anything out that is good for the lactose intolerant or people who have IBS.

Your recommendations are greatly appreciated. Thanks
Yes I have tried Whey protein, but most of the mixes you mix in milk. Unless I use the lactose free milk. Would that work? Or is there some you don’t have to mix in milk?

Have you taken Whey protein? It is the most recommended protein shake.

That is absurd, most whey protein mixes are mixed in just normal water.

http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/whey.html

If you scroll down theres a huge list of whey protein brands and i checked some of them and they only require atleast you mix it in water or any other beverage. Whey protein can be mixed in anything
