Question by JJ: Can one take quest acidophiles plus, if they are taking an acid reflux prescription?
I was told at the health shop it was ok to take the probiotic Quest acidophilus plus, even though I am taking an acid reflux prescription, started them yesterday, taking them after food, having a little acid reflux problem this morning, I did try a none caffine herbal tea last night, which I never had before, so not to sure what caused it but was wondering if anyone has had side effects, from taking probiotics and acid reflux prescription

The health shop is not qualified to tell you anything. Check with your gastroenterologist first. I have two hiatal hernias and do not hesitate to ask questions. It can save you a lot of trouble.

Question by billy s: will probiotics (inner health plus for kids) help my 16 month old son with constipation ?
My son has suffered constipation since he was 2 months old. I have taken him to doctors and health professionals and they all say the same, increase the fibre and fluids well i have tried it all prunes, extra water, weetbix, more fruit and veg, coloxyl (stool softener), para choc (which is a laxative but don’t really want to use it) and just brought inner health plus for kids / high potency probiotics. Will this help him because he would be really uncomfortable and i need to find a cure for him. The poor thing is in pain when he goes (usually every day) because it’s so hard and usually he has some blood as well while going to the toilet.
All answers would be appreciated because i know something out there has to work (preferably natural stuff).
Thanks

I found that when I started to give my daughter fresh blueberries, she became much less constipated. All of the things that you said didn’t work also didn’t really work for us but the blueberries have helped so so much. If you can get fresh ones where you are, give it a try. As for the probiotics, I’m afraid I don’t know if that will help
Good luck!

Question by TP: I think I have Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Is Buscopan Plus over the counter?
Best answer:
Answer by sillyrat
Buscopan is an OTC – over the counter drug. I’ve taken it before for alleviationg stomach gas by expelling it. But since I also IBS (where bloating due to gas is also a symptom) which I believe is a result of different causes in different persons, buscopan cannot almost solve the problem. You need the help of a good gastroenterologist or a naturopath to correct the symptoms and if you are lucky (IBS is unfortunately difficult to diagnose and heal if causes are not identified!) identify the cause/s.

I have not used the one you mentioned but the supplement I use has a patented encapsulation system that guarantees live microflora reaches the intestines.
This two-product system uses new technology to protect beneficial microflora during the rigors of shipping, storage, and the acidic journey through your stomach. Other products claim live microflora at the time of manufacture. Optiflora guarantees the delivery of live microflora to your intestines.
This two-product system includes Probiotic (Bifidus & Acidophilus…microflora) + Prebiotic (FOS…food source for microflora). Patented guaranteed delivery of 500 million microflora to intestines.
Hope this is useful and should you wish to have the website, feel free to contact me.
Best Wishes
