Well some of the pills that they were using in mental illiness, turned out to be for criec pain, so he could be giving you the ones that they found that worked on the pain in your body, more then they did the depression. Now when you see your doctor, you should really sit down and talk to him about things like this, cause he will answer you, that is his job, to keep you informed of what your taking, and how it will help. You should always know the medication that you are taking, and what it is for, and how it works, and how much you are taking, and what the side effects are.

Question by Reaper G: Do Lactose Intolerant Pills work for IBS sufferers?
I have Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), which isn’t good when I or anybody with IBS digests or eats dairy products (Milk, Cheese, Yogurt, etc.). So does a Lactose Intolerant pill help relieve IBS with respect to dairy foods?

Best answer:

Answer by rajb1037
Well, IBS and lactose intolerance are different things.

If you have gas/loose stools after eating dairy, it could either be due to lactose intolerance or your IBS. It depends on whether your symptoms are being caused by one or the other.. it’s possible your problems could be from one or both.

So if it’s lactose intolerance (you can still have it even if you have IBS), it may be helpful. But dairy products are discouraged entirely if you have IBS, even if you aren’t lactose intolerant.

IBS is an iffy diagnosis. It often means the Doc just isn’t sure what’s causing your problems, so figuring out the exact cause of your problems (which foods/combinations, what times, activities, etc.) will be helpful in the long run. If your problems are only with dairy products, for example, it’s likely you’re actually just lactose intolerant (a common misdiagnosis).

Question by bleedingmascara: i have irritable bowel syndrome and no pills are working so i have to go see a specialist for it and?
i was just wondering what they do when you go there for that

Best answer:

Answer by CJ
I take it the specialist you are seeing is a gastroenterologist (gut doctor)? If so, he/she will take a full medical history and go over the medications you take. They may request more testing to be done or more medications to try. The testing may consist of lab work and a colonoscopy. There are many medications, so will depend on what you’ve tried. It all will vary. You and your doctor will go over it all. Hope this info helps.

Praying you are able to find a medication/treatment to help with your IBS.
