Question by here i am: Could my meds do this to me?
My doctor just recently decided I had irritable bowel syndrome or a peptic ulcer and put me on meds for it and I’ve been doing much better over the past week. But just now, I got a sudden stomach ache and vomitted and now I feel much better. I am also on an antibiotic for sinuses and I took both medications on a very empty stomach, I haven’t ate in over 12 hours. Even though the medications don’t say I need to eat to take them, could that be what causes me to vomit? Nothing really came up but water I drank and it was yellow(possibly from my meds?) Can you also be so hungry you vomit maybe?
My vomit was yellow.

Question by cyanidedaquari: I have IBS and am in constant pain, but pain meds just make it worse?
I am 25 years old and I have Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
for the past year and a half, i have tried every single modified diet i could and nothing has helped
I am in so much pain that my doctor prescribed pain medication, i have been on everything from Oxycontin to morphine but all these medications seem to do is land me back in the emergency room with blood in my stool
Please help me, have any of you faced the same situation? What did you do about it?

Why would anyone treat IBS with powerful painkillers that mask the underlying problem? You need to see a different dr an gastroenterologist who specalizes in this condition. You need to treat the problem not the side effects that associate with this or any other inflammation of the intestines. Your problem is just geting worse because the painkillers are enabling the condition to flourish. See a specialist and get tests done in order to get proper treatment and the correct medications. Good luck.

Your headaches may be due to the IBS. I have Ulcerated Colitis and have severe headaches if I don’t eat right. As for over the counter? Not much out there. I take Flexeril, it is prescribed by your physician but is relatively cheap. My headaches are caused by tension in the neck and shoulders which stems from the colitis and manifests in my neck and shoulders. Not sure but this could be your problem. The Flexeril helps to relax those muscles. Good luck.

Currently I’m only finishing up a tube of Airborne. I’ll be taking my last Airborne tablet in a couple of hours. If I don’t feel better I’m gonna start taking either Nyquil or Tylenol Cold Severe Head Congestion. Do you think it will be safe if I continue to take my probiotics (I take 2-3 Garden of Life Primal Defense Ultra probiotic capsules a day) and 1 capsule of 5-HTP 100mg while taking either one of the cold medicines I listed above? Does anyone know if it’s ok to do this?

Meds are Flagiyl and Amoxicylin (spelling). I’ve taken her off a raw diet and put her on cooked chicken and rice. Any suggestions as to what I can feed her to stop the lose stool?
