For the past two years I have been suffering with upper epigastric pain the middle of my stomach feels like it has been punched. The pain will then go to my right lower quadrant. When my right lower quadrant is touched it feels like a bruise. My stomach feels bloated, gassy and it makes weird gurgling noises, stomach cramps from my stomach having so much gas in it. Sometimes the pain is relieved by a bowel movement. Sometimes my stools can be hard or watery. I went to my gastro doctor who performed the following tests which came back negative: Upper endoscopy, Cat scan of the abdomen and pelvis, Ultrasound of my gallbladder, bloodwork for liver enzymes, gallbladder, pancreas, Sonogram of my ovaries. She believes I have Irritable bowel syndrome and prescribed bentyl. Does this sound like irritable bowel syndrome?

hi,
Looks like a lot of hard times to me. Sometimes depending on what you’re eating and what you are drinking, this problem comes out on your 40s. Looks like your system cannot take anymore the kinds of diet you have. You probably is eating a lot of acidic food like beef, chicken, and pork meat. Too much carbohydrates turns into sugar and become acid also, if you don’t know that. Mushrooms are very acidic also. Too much intake of dairy like milk, and cheese can cause gastric problems also. Too much caffein from soda and or from coffee or tea is another contributor of gastric problem. Apple and banana can cause you to bloat and become constipated if eaten everyday. These food will cause intestinal problem overtime if your diet consist of all these food. And eventually you will have a problem in moving bowel called diverticulities, where small stools will be stucked in small pockets in your intestines that will cause for you to have the kind of stomach pain that you are experiencing and then it will be very very comfortable after you move your bowel, although the stool in the pocket will remain there and eventually double the size and will cause for a surgery.
The best thing you can do is to try drinking tea called 3 ballerina in which y0u can only buy from asian store (chinese or pilipino store) When you drink a glass of this tea in the morning, the next morning you will feel a bit of tummy ache and you will have loose bowel movement. Sometimes, it will make your bowel to become a diarheia, but what it really do is cleansing your stomach especially the stool that was stuck in your intestine’s pocket. Because you are always constipated, your food processor inside you stomach is like can’t do the job by itself anymore and it needs lubricant which will be the job of the tea.
It might be really hard the first time you drink the tea, but what have you got to lose? It will really make you uncomfortable and if you are working, you might call in sick, if you can wait to the weekend it is your option.
Then, change your diet. Eat a lot of fiberous food, green leafy vegetables. A lot of fish and less rice. You might want to just eat brown rice instead of white rice or fried rice. Don’t eat too much fried food too. Not too much white bread and easy on alcohol if you drink beer or wine or other. Eliminate the habit of smoking of you do smoke. Your body is already communicating to you that change in your system of life needs some improvement.
Good luck.
