Question by ACJ: Has anyone used probiotics to treat infant gas?
My baby is 3 1/2 months old and is bottle fed. She has been extremely gassy since day 1. We tried different bottles and that did nothing. We’ve also tried variations of gripe water but this didnt help either. We switched her to lactose free formula and this really seemed to make the biggest difference. We also put a couple of drops of mylicon in every bottle and this also seems to help a little but she is still EXTREMELY gassy at night. Last night I woke every 1 1/2 hours or so just to go in and turn or reposition her, she would let out a huge toot and then fall right back to sleep. She does feed once or twice at night some nights but only maybe an ounce or two sometimes and I think she would really sleep through the night if it wasnt for the gas waking her. Ive heard of probiotics working for intestinal gas (vs stomach gas) but dont know of anyone who has tried it. If you’ve tried it please tell me how well it worked and where to get it. Thanks!

Can someone suggest some tried-and-true brands of infant probiotics? I live in the US. There are so many nutritional supplement brands out there that are not what they say they are.

Can anyone recommend a good probiotic for an infant. My son is 5 weeks old and we are dealing with a milk allergy and he is already using enfamil nutramigen and before we switch to the even more expensive hypo allergenic formula($155 for 4 cans) my doc oked probiotics. There is just so many and wanted to see if anyone had suggestions on the best one to use for an infant. Thanks
