Question by ♪♫ ßr0wn Eyǝd G!rl ツ ♥: Suffering through horrible stomach aches.. Can anyone help?
Does anyone have irritable bowel syndrome? If so, what are the symptoms?

I’m trying to narrow down what is causing these horrible stomach aches I’ve been having off and on since last week. I don’t want to go to the ER because it’ll cost a fortune (with health insurance) and I don’t think it’s that severe.

I was seeing a stomach specialist over the summer which confirmed that I no longer have H-Pylori or gastristis which I was told that I had a few years back by another stomach doctor.

The pains that I am suffering is a lot of pressure in my stomach and bloating. There is no blood in my stool. Sorry for the gross details so that’s why I said (above) that the symptoms aren’t severe). However, the symptoms are very uncomfortable. I had to leave early twice last week and I’m close to asking to go home early from work again today because I can’t take sitting for much longer!!

Thanks in advance.
Huh? My digestive system works fine. It’s not that.

You are a female and that makes stomach problems difficult to diagnose from symptomatic information. Your best bet is to see a doctor who can run some tests. It may not be your digestive tract at all. You could be having some organ problems such as gall bladder or ovaries.

Question by lesie B: horrible!!!!! periods at school?
im 13, ive had my period since i was 12. my cramps are debilitating. deep. and make me cry and pace and sweat. ibuprophen(tylenl) helps alot but at my school you are not aloud to take medication and i need it every 3-4 hours or im dead. i miss way t much school with various health problems as it is. i am on low estrogen birth control ‘yaz’ as a lest resort but it doesnt help much at all. it desnt help the bleeding either. i didnt have to have an exam and under any circumstances i will refuse an exam because i dont know but from frequant masterbation my hymen might be broken and i do not want that information given to parents. also i have a strong phobia of doctors even if its just for blood pressurte or something. i am an average weight. not overweight or underweight (5′3″ and weigh 113) which is supposably healthy. i have ibs(irritable bowel syndrome) so im frequantly sick with stmach issues. and i DISPISE bleeding. i bleed extremely heave even with both a super tampon and large pad on i bleed ALOT and i hate it. i have bled through at school and im constantly worried it will happen again. my period is about 7 days or so. it is my most dreaded part of every month. i am extremely regular and get my period on the dot every month.

Hi there,

I’ve been on a strict non-dairy diet for years (I’m lactose intolerant). Thus, I’ve been told I should be taking probiotics like acidophilus to replenish my good intestinal bacteria. However, every time I take probiotics after going a long time without any, I feel very bad – I develop a foul smell in my nose, my sinuses swell up a bit, and I generally fill “ill” all over. I don’t think this is a coincidence with something else I’m eating, because when I stop taking the probiotics, these symptoms disappear. Maybe it’s the fact that they are “dairy-based” probiotics and I’m lactose intolerant? Not sure. They are so small, there shouldn’t be that much lactose in them. Maybe my body is getting “used” to the new good bacteria? Is this a temporary adaptation phase?

I’d really like to know if this is a known symptom among people who are going on probiotics after a long period without them. It would be really interesting to know.

Thank you very much
