Question by : Pain in my right side? (female) help?
So today i have been having a pain in my lower right abdomen. I’m not sure what it is but it kind of is freaking me out lol It’s just like a pain when your muscle has been over worked like in your legs, but i haven’t worked out that part of my body in a few days. Yesterday i worked out my legs for about an hour, but i don’t see how that would effect my stomach. And today and yesterday I have been having a little bit of mucus in my stools which is a symptom of IBS, and i have this symptom from time to time but not often. I’m pretty sure i have IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) so could that be the cause? Any ideas?

Additional Details: 19 years old, female, generally healthy overall 5′6 130lbs
It isn’t a severe pain, it’s dull and achy like when your muscle is pulled and it only hurts if i move a certain way or use my abdominal muscles to get up.

depending on what type of pain it is (dull, achy, constant, sharp) may depend on if it is your appendix, ovulation, ovarian cysts, endometriosis, or if there is a possible you can be pregnant a tubal pregnancy. If it gets worse i would go see a doc..

Question by Andy s: Help with cyst and IBS?
I am 15 years old and i had an ultrasound done and on my left ovary it showed that i had a cyst. I also have IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) and i get frequent bathroom attacks (if you know that i mean)… anyways, it was confirmed i had a cyst around august. Lately the left side of my abdomen has very sharp pain… if i try to bend down or stand (or even sit) up straight, the sharp pain becomes more pronounced. Any suggestions for the pain? Can the cyst grow and become serious? and can this pain also influence my IBS symptoms??

yes cysts can do alot of things to the body. sounds like you might have PCOS. did the doc give you any birth control to control the growth of cysts. if your cyst did burst, this might have caused the pain along with the IBS. research PCOS and you will find tons of info on it.

Question by : I haven’t had my period for 5 months, help?
Hiya,
I’m 15 years old and I’ve always had an irregular period. But I haven’t had it for the last 5 months or so. I’m a virgin, so I’m not pregnant. Sometimes I get symptoms of PMS-ing but I’ll never get it. My friends say that I’m lucky b/c periods suck, but I’m really worried because when I’m older and stuff I want to have children.
I guess stress could be a factor, last year in grade 9 was very stressful because I went to a school where none of my friends from grade 8 went too, the teachers humiliated me in front of my peers and I ended up getting IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) and I ended up missing A LOT of school because of it. Now, I’ve switched to a different school, and lots of my grade 8 friends, including my BFF, go there. I don’t think that I have anything to be stressed about right now (except for exams x.x”)
So please help me, don’t give me B.S. cause I’m really serious about this.
Thanks!
A lil’ more info just clear some things up ;)
Yes, I’m overweight.
I exercise a lot, just because I’m a fatty doesn’t mean I’m lazy xD
I’m prefer not to see a doctor, I have a crazy phobia of mine D; Currently I’m looking for a new doctor I’m comfortable with.
And my parents know about it but I guess they don’t care xDD

Question by TerriersRock: Pregnant with IBS….scared and need advice? Please help (Scared of Ectopic Pregnancy being an issue)?
Okay so I found out yesterday that I am pregnant. Which is great but I’m scared. You see I’m having pain on my right side. And normally I get my IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) pains there but now I’m scared that even though its in the same place as the IBS pains that it might be an ectopic pregnancy. They did blood work today. I’m just praying its the IBS. anyways have any of you ever wondered? Or thought that?

I shouldn’t be so worried but I’m scared. I’ve got pain in my lower right abodmen and back (where I normally get my IBS pains….but I’m not constipated right now or anything.)

I’m pretty scared

My symptoms are: Missed period (with light spotting on day of expected period)
Nausea
Slight back pain
Gas

Sadly my blood pressure is a little high right now because I’m so nervous about everything at the moment….anxious (which causes IBS)
I just want to be able to be happy about this, instead of scared

If it isn’t the IBS it could just be round ligament pain. I got it pretty regularly in the first half of my pregnancy, always on the right side, but now it’s much less. It’s pretty painful though. If you’re really scared, go to the hospital. Better safe then sorry. Good luck!!!

Question by : Please help! Pain in lower right side of abdomen; any ideas?
I’m a 20 year old female who has been experiencing a pain in my lower right hand side of my abdomen for about a year now. It’s a fairly dull pain, usually, but sometimes it can get very sharp. I’ve been to my doctor several times about it- at first we thought it might be Appendicitis, but I didn’t think that the pain would last thing long if it is. We then thought it might be irritable bowel syndrome, but then why would it stay only on my right side, and not my entire lower half? Endometriosis has run in my family for about two generations now- My grandmother and my mother (mother’s side), so then my doctor and I figured it might be that; however, the symptoms that I have been experiencing don’t seem to be very consistent. This includes lower back pain, painful menstrual cycles, sometimes pain during sex, depression, anxiety, etc. Again, although I have experienced these, they don’t appear to be consistent with each of my month cycles; sometimes I get them, sometimes I don’t (and I figure if I DO actually have endometriosis, they WOULD be consistent). The pain is also predominately on my right side, and I thought endometriosis would cause pain all over the pelvic region. A close friend also told me that it might be an overactive ovary, however sometimes the pain, although still on my right side, is not where my ovary [should] be, which is closer to my hip bone. More often than not, the pain is just above my hip bone, in line with my belly button; once again, I’ve been tested for appendicitis, because I know that is where that pain usually is, but my results have come back negative for any sort of infections. I’ve also been told it may be a cyst of some sort, but ultrasounds have resulted negative for those, too.

I’ve been to my gynecologist, who doesn’t seem to be taking me seriously, and all she did was throw me on birth control around August off last year. Although it seems to be taking the edge off of the pain, it is STILL here. I’ve had ultrasounds, x-rays, CT scans, and blood tests, and nothing has shown up on them. I have also lost a lot of weight since the pain has began, which is unusual, since I am STILL on the birth control. I have yet to get an internal, which I know would at least give me a further idea of what is going on, but I was wondering if anyone else has experienced anything like this; What did you do, or how did you deal with it? At this point, any clues or ideas would really take a load off my plate.

It could be intestinal. Try a different doctor
