I’ve been drinking peppermint tea which is helping somewhat for my irritable bowel syndrome.
IBS with constipation.

I have had IBS since I had my gallbladder removed. I haven’t really found any medicines that work. I’ve tried so many I can’t even remember the names. I’m not really sure what type of IBS you have [ there's one with frequent constipation, one with frequent diarrhea & one with both ] but if you have the one with frequent diarrhea, try eating greens with your meals. Lettuce, spinach, kale, things like that.

In that case, have you tried stool softners? Maybe some prune juice. Miralax works wonders from what I’ve heard.

My period is due in 4 days. I had unprotected sex with hubby on the day before ovulation. Since then I have been crampy off and on,feel very vey tired which is not normal for me,no matter what i eat i still feel hungry and have been constipated but i have irritable bowel syndrome and usually am never constipated. My cervix will be soft and very hard to reach and then at times will feel lower and kinda firm,this is off and on,like right now its high.I also dont have much discharge at all unless i feel for my cervix and there is some milky very thin discharge on my cervix. I am soo confused. does this sound like pregnancy. And im going to test tomorrow.

I don’t know about the cervix as I never examine mine, but the discharge does possibly indicate pregnancy. Good luck.

Was wondering if anyone can give me anything very easy to get or make for irritable bowel syndrome? I need something that is very soluable and inexpensive or actually, a list of foods that I can eat.

There’s a big list, basically you have to find out what works for you by trial and error. Here are some good things that have worked for me:
- Whole-wheat pasta
- Any fruit or vegetable (especially broccoli, tomatoes, bananas, and any type of berry)
- Triscuits and tuna
- Peanut Butter
- Beans and brown rice
- South Beach Diet meals
- Grilled chicken

Basically I eliminated beef, pork, anything fried, and anything high in sugar, and took about 4-6 grams of fiber supplements per day. It was a huge help and my quality of life went way up once I got my diet in order. Good luck.

I have;
Congenetal Scoliosis with deformed vertibrae
My hips are badly out of alignment
One of my legs is longer than the other
Arthritis in my knees
A heart murmur
An enlarged heart
One kidney
Pinched nerves
Constant muscle spazms
Irritable bowel syndrome
Extreme fear of crowds
Angxiety disorder
and prone to panic attacks.
There are days where I don’t sleep because of pain. I get muscle spazms just by folding laundry.
I have a lawyer. She is the best in this area of the US

Umm. yea, and if they denied you like they do with about 50% of their cases, just get a lawyer and appeal the case. Most of time, they will deny you just out of habit of denying people.

It is!! It has a helpful bacteria in it that helps your stomach break down food! as far as I know, all yogurt does this.

I had my gallbladder removed almost 2 years ago. My doctor just said “watch what you eat” and sent me on my way. Since that time I have watched what I eat, for instance I can not eat fast food at all, I have to rush to the restroom right away if I do. I try to maintain a high veggie, fruit diet and only eat chicken or seafood if I have meat. So to my question:

I have digestive issues still, it seems like I am constipated all the time, or sometimes I just have to rush to the bathroom. I also get bloated and have gas.

I recently started taking a Pro-biotic and a Digestive Enzyme supplement. Does anyone know if this could help my issues?

The gall bladder is a storage unit for bile. Some people have good bile production and storage/accumulation is not necessary for them, and no problems result from removal of the unit for various reasons. Other people have slow production of bile, needed to digest fats and complex heavy proteins, and if they wind up without a gall bladder, often supplements like papain can help a lot. But fats are to be avoided strenuously! Light vegetable oils in squeaky moderation can be okay, for those thusly afflicted. Careful and observant experimentation will be needed to determine what exact food regimens are how successful or disastrous for any individuals, and those with altered hardware must get very serious about it.

i’m having symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome.

i ended my period almost a week ago,
but i’m still somewhat crampy, i have diarreah for 2 days ..and then im constipated the next..my groin area is sensitive

The only thing is, my breasts are somewhat tender & im experincing fatigue & joint pain.

Does anyone know whats going on with me?

I have IBS and the only way I knew for sure was when I went to the doctor. It took some time to figure out what I had though coz I had to try alot of things. E.g I had to visit a dietician, exclude gluten and lactose stuff, and basically put up with it. Anyway I eventually had to go to a specialist and he confirmed I had IBS.
I think if you want to be sure, visit a doctor.

My 15 yr old was just diagnosed as having Irritable Bowel Syndrome. If you’re familiar with the diet, do you know any good recipes we can make for her.
No one is answering my question. My daughter’s condition is on the severe end and she has to completely avoid raw veggies and fruits, insoluable fiber, caffeine, bad fats and all dairy. She has diarrhea like water and has to take immodium and add calcium and soluable fiber. She’s also addicted to Vicodin right now and is coming off of that (she was in so much pain, they prescribed up to 1500 mgs daily along with Bentyl). Finding some nice recipes could have cheered her up – she is aspiring to become a chef when she grows up.
She’s also adding digestive enzymes and other herbs.
This is NOT a misdiagnosis – but thanks for that. She is a patient at a children’s hospital and ALL food allergies have already been ruled out. She is a patient of a pediatric gastroenterologist. Crohn’s and Colitis have been ruled out as well – I’m asking for RECIPES, not opinions.

Foods don’t cause IBS. But some foods may make you feel worse. Foods that may make symptoms worse include foods high in fat or caffeine. Fat and caffeine can cause your intestines to contract, which may cause cramping. Alcohol and chocolate may also make you feel worse. If gas is a problem for you, you might want to avoid foods that tend to make gas worse. These include beans, cabbage and some fruits.

Get your kind to keep a diary of what they eat and what their symptoms are for a few weeks. This may be a good way to find out if a food bothers them. If you think a food makes them feel worse, don’t eat it. But don’t cut out foods unless they have caused you problems more than once.

I have irritable bowel syndrome it seems and constipation is the major issue. I try to incorporate more fiber and water into my diet but it seems it doesn’t quite help. I’m now taking Myralax everyday and it seems to help somewhat. Any other advice would be helpful.

I had IBS until I went on a gluten-free diet. Cleared it up 100%. It’s a kind of difficult diet to follow – no fast food, no wheat barley and rye or anything made from these grains, no MSG and mono- di- and tri-glycerides… but it’s worth it to me because I feel soooooooo much better.
