Question by TerriersRock: IBS concerns in the first trimester of pregnancy question (fear of it causing miscarraige)?
Okay I have what is believed to be IBS. We have a family history of it in our family and the doc says before running tests that that is it. Anyways we are trying to start our family and wonder if that has any effect on the ability to get pregnant?

Also the first trimester, all the stress from going from constipation to diarrea and back. Would that harm the baby? (I have the ibs where its back and forth between constipation and diareaha) Honestly this is the first bought of it I’ve had in 4 months. So its scary.

So I just want to know how IBS affects pregnancy and becoming pregnant……and if its possible to have a healthy happy baby.

Also I want to know what else I can do to lessen the IBS symptoms now and during that time. (I’ve been eating healthier so thats a start) I’m not on any medicine for the ibs

(IBS= Irritable bowel syndrome)

i really don’t know much about ibs still i am just learning all the stuff as my 5 yr old son was just diagnosed with it a few days ago but they put him on bentyl and it really works !

Good Luck i do know that excessive diarrhea can cause contractions i am in my first trimester and worry about it because i am lactose and i get the cramping and diarrhea any way i hope you find out and i would just call your doctor and ask to be on the safe side!

Question by MJ 91: Is this my first time PVCs?
Can anyone help on this please, this is the first time this happens to me I did a 24 hours holter and these are the results, is this normal?

1.good recording quality.
2.clear sinus arrhymia.
3.normal QRS complexes.
4. 2 isolated PVCs, no couplets, no runs.
5. no isolated PACs, no couplets, no runs.
6. no significant ST alterations.
7. no pause > 2.5 sec.
8. 406 episodes of tachycardia rhythm- i guess maybe due to panic?

I have irritable bowel syndrome and severe anxiety and panic disorder and i always have upset stomach due to GERD, but i haven’t started on a medication yet for the anxiety, i stay awake al night and in the last week i begun having ectopic heart beats sometimes after sleeping for only 4 hours especially when i enter the REM state, and it wakes me up scared and my heart starts to race and then calm down, my blood pressure is normal, i did heart echo and stress test all normal, i’ve noticed that sometimes i have the ectopic heart beats when i hold my breath and when passing stool, and sometimes when i get up all the sudden and when i sit down all the sudden and when leaning forward, and I also have it when there is strong pain in my abdomen due to the IBS and maybe Gastritis, so my question is can pain or lack of sleep or anxiety or panic affect your normal heart rhythm and cause what I’m experiencing right now?? any help will be most appreciated and welcomed,
Thanks to you all, and god bless you all.

First thing in the morning with a glass of water. Your PH is at it’s best at that time, and the probiotic is better used by your body.

That’s a possibility if the probiotic is moving some junk out that doesn’t want to be moved. If the person’s intestines are inflamed, then it wouldn’t be surprising if the stuff that was moving out…which is typically pro-inflammatory garbage…did cause a bit of upset.
Usually probiotics don’t cause any problems, but if it’s in the beginning and the stomach cramps are brief, then maybe so.
Good luck and be well.

PS. More than likely, it’s the yogurt that is the culprit. you might stick to taking probiotic supplements.
