Question by : I feel nausea’s everyday..been diagnosed with IBS, is it causing my nauseousness?
Ok, let me give you a little information about me:

I’m 20 years old, and up until about 4-5 months ago, I have never had an issue with everyday nausea or daily diarrhea. Around January of this year, I became sick and was throwing up, and then had a cough. It went away, so I thought “no big deal.” About a week later, I was having terrible diarrhea, i figured it was food poisoning because I had eaten an egg that was not fully cooked from Denny’s. That lasted 2-3 days. About 1 week later, the same symptoms came back, and not only was I having diarrhea, but I was also feeling like I was going to faint and throw-up. I went to the doctor, and they did blood-work. The tests came back that my white blood cell count was high, which would indicate there was a minor infection that would go away on it’s own. I thought it went away, but about a week later, the symptoms came back. I went to my doctor again, because now I was experiencing daily nausea. She said it was Irritable Bowel Syndrome and gave me some crap drug. I was disappointing she didn’t run any tests on me considering I was diagnosed with a minor infection during the prior visit.

Now the diarreah doesn’t really bother me…its the nausea I get that destroys my life. I wake up and feel sick, it causes me not to eat, and it prevents me from doing anything throughout the day. When I go out with friends to eat, I’ll be done eating or in the middle of my meal, and the nausea will just hit me, and i’ll feel like i need to throw up. I’m getting really fed-up with living my life like this. I don’t want this to be my daily life. I used to enjoy my life, and do fun things..and now I’m pushing my friends away because I always feel like I need to throw up.

I’m thinking I should set-up an appointment with a gastro doctor, but I really don’t think they can help. I’m the kind of guy that has always toughened out sicknesses, never went to a doctor unless it was a check-up. And believe it or not, I took my first pill of my life a couple months ago after my doctor prescribed it. That should speak for itself: I’m pretty effing concerned and suffering.

My question is…is anyone dealing with the same things, and how do I get my life back?

You should definitely go see a gastro doctor so you can get a diagnosis or atleast an idea of what it is you may have.

Nausea can definitely come as a result of your digestive system acting up. Inflammation, and the rise of stomach acids can do a bunch of nasty stuff to your body, causing you to feel sick. I’d definitely consider detoxing for a while, eating very well and taking your vitamins. You could consider taking a natural supplement to help with digestive disorders/bloat/inflammation. I recommend the one in my source.

Question by carlo m: I have cramping pain in my abdomen and I feel bloated. I have diarrhea alternating with constipation and there
I have cramping pain in my abdomen and I feel bloated. I have diarrhea alternating with constipation and there is mucus in my stool. Is it?1)Irritable bowel syndrome
2)cholecystitis
3)pelvic inflammatory disease
4)Salmonella infection

Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Cholecystitis (inflammation of the gallbladder with stones or without) usually doesn’t cause mucas in the stool. PID is an infection of the ovaries and uterus. Salmonella doesn’t usually cause constipation as far as I know.

I have IBS and the only way I knew for sure was when I went to the doctor. It took some time to figure out what I had though coz I had to try alot of things. E.g I had to visit a dietician, exclude gluten and lactose stuff, and basically put up with it. Anyway I eventually had to go to a specialist and he confirmed I had IBS.
I think if you want to be sure, visit a doctor.
Good luck x
