Question by Sue W: Our tabby was just diagnosed with metastatic lung cancer. Has anyone used homeopthic drugs or treatments?
Our Luther appeared perfectly healthy but was losing weight. He did have liver disease which seemed to have been cured. Because of the weight lose we took him to our Vet. He thought is could be irritable bowel syndrome and he suggested an endoscopy. While in the hospital as part of the pre surgical procedure Lou had a chest xray which showed a mass on the lung. A CT scan then showed several more tumors. It appears to be metastatic cancer but we are waiting for confirmation from the biopsy that was taken. My husband and I are devastated. We visited our little baby in the hospital and is was so difficult. His leg was still taped from where they had the iv and he was shaking. Luther is home now and is slowly returning to his usual self. You see, he had never been away from home and it was traumatic. I’m trying to research as much as possible before see our Vet and the oncologist. Any advice, treatments, would be so very much appreciated. We love this little guy.

I am so sorry about this. Having lost a dearly loved pet to cancer I know how terrible this is. Unfortunately, my dog lived less than a week after his diagnoses because his cancer was so advanced. I want to stress that his was NOT lung cancer but lympho sarcoma so don’t judge your situation by mine. As long as your baby still has quality of life then he has hope. And I can tell that he has very loving and caring humans that will do everything they can for him. Sometimes the only thing we have left to do is to ease their suffering but I do wish you the best of luck. I don’t have any answers but wanted to say that you will all be in my prayers. I hope you get good news from the specialists.

Question by Caesar J. B. Squitti: Is the profit in drugs hiding the simple cure for cancer and other diseases ?
There is a simple alternative philosophy concerning disease and its treatment.

Most of us, don’t realize that there are ‘friendly bacteria” (not all bacteria is bad) the same kind found in yogurt and cheeses that help the body digest food.

An imbalance or contamination of this intestinal flora may cause IBS, Crohns, MS, Depression, Schizophrenia and even Cancer.

Problem is that when you are given too much anti-biotics, some of the friendly bacteria is killed making people anemic and sick due to a lack of proper chemcials.

Where you awaer of what are called probiotics, or friendly bacteria and do you think that enough is being done to address this positive side to bacteria ?

I believe a cure has been found but would be to costly to reveal it. To much at stake with the insurance companies.

This is a great question, although I don’t think there is a right or wrong answer. You are asking a question of ethics, more than science, and you will likely receive conflicting answers.

I was indeed aware of probiotics and “friendly” bacteria, btw. When you get into a question of whether it’s ok to kill off bad bacteria at the expense of good bacteria, it’s really going to depend on the individual situation. Certainly, I’d gladly sacrifice normal flora if I could stop an infection in my body somewhere.

IF you question is ‘are drug co.’s purposely sacrificing the good bacteria in the body to come up with some drug that kills undesirable stuff, I’d say ‘no’, but I do believe they know exactly what’s happening, and don’t really care as long as they are making money. Is this ethical? probably not. Is it life-saving? probably.

I am currently taking Dicetel 3 times a day (pentavarium bromide or something like that), and it doesn’t seem to be helping. I still wake up with pain every morning, and even after just a cup of weak tea (nothing else), I have to go to the bathroom 4-6 times!! Has anyone had any better success with other medications?

Only medical professionals (Doctors, PAs, NPs) can write prescriptions in the military. If the medicine you want is over-the-counter, check with the local military pharmacy. If they carry it, you should be able to get it from them at no cost with no prescription.
