Question by : I feel nausea’s everyday..been diagnosed with IBS, is it causing my nauseousness?
Ok, let me give you a little information about me:
I’m 20 years old, and up until about 4-5 months ago, I have never had an issue with everyday nausea or daily diarrhea. Around January of this year, I became sick and was throwing up, and then had a cough. It went away, so I thought “no big deal.” About a week later, I was having terrible diarrhea, i figured it was food poisoning because I had eaten an egg that was not fully cooked from Denny’s. That lasted 2-3 days. About 1 week later, the same symptoms came back, and not only was I having diarrhea, but I was also feeling like I was going to faint and throw-up. I went to the doctor, and they did blood-work. The tests came back that my white blood cell count was high, which would indicate there was a minor infection that would go away on it’s own. I thought it went away, but about a week later, the symptoms came back. I went to my doctor again, because now I was experiencing daily nausea. She said it was Irritable Bowel Syndrome and gave me some crap drug. I was disappointing she didn’t run any tests on me considering I was diagnosed with a minor infection during the prior visit.
Now the diarreah doesn’t really bother me…its the nausea I get that destroys my life. I wake up and feel sick, it causes me not to eat, and it prevents me from doing anything throughout the day. When I go out with friends to eat, I’ll be done eating or in the middle of my meal, and the nausea will just hit me, and i’ll feel like i need to throw up. I’m getting really fed-up with living my life like this. I don’t want this to be my daily life. I used to enjoy my life, and do fun things..and now I’m pushing my friends away because I always feel like I need to throw up.
I’m thinking I should set-up an appointment with a gastro doctor, but I really don’t think they can help. I’m the kind of guy that has always toughened out sicknesses, never went to a doctor unless it was a check-up. And believe it or not, I took my first pill of my life a couple months ago after my doctor prescribed it. That should speak for itself: I’m pretty effing concerned and suffering.
My question is…is anyone dealing with the same things, and how do I get my life back?
Best answer:
Answer by Gregory Roberts You should definitely go see a gastro doctor so you can get a diagnosis or atleast an idea of what it is you may have.
Nausea can definitely come as a result of your digestive system acting up. Inflammation, and the rise of stomach acids can do a bunch of nasty stuff to your body, causing you to feel sick. I’d definitely consider detoxing for a while, eating very well and taking your vitamins. You could consider taking a natural supplement to help with digestive disorders/bloat/inflammation. I recommend the one in my source.

Question by ★☆W.a.b.b.y✿❀: I was diagnosed with IBS & Fibromyalgia, but the symptoms are now all gone!?
I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome in 2008 (aged 18). Prior to that and up until 1 year ago I had chronic wide spread body pains. But in the past 6 months nearly all of my symptoms have gone or changed. I rarely get headaches, I don’t have wide spread pain (I have worse pain in my knees only) and most of my other symptoms have disappeared.
I was also diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome. I’ve been running to the bathroom 3+ times a day and would be in a great deal of abdominal pain. But I have been symptom free for at least 6 months now
Is it likely I’m in ‘remission’ of these symptoms? Or that I never had them in the first place? Or that I’m ‘cured’?
(I’m seeing a rheumatologist about my remaining symptoms as they seem to fit in with an autoimmune condition, rather than Fibromyalgia)
Nothing else has changed. If anything, I’m more stressed.

Answer by Joan Haworth Have you had a change in your life, like a new love, a new job, happier with your job or life now, any stresser that is gone, or any infections that have bee n treated, like periodontal [gum] disease, or any medicines you stopped or started,or have you changed your diet to be more healthy, or have you found a way to relax, as with yoga?
The Mind-Body connection is very real and can make a big difference in your health and pain.
I have personally experienced it and know others that have also.
You really had them, but something improved them.

Question by ideoRama81: What are some foods I can eat since I was diagnosed with IBS?
I had undergone extreme family stress and hardship within the past year.
At my doctor’s physical, he stated that I am in good health except for 3 things: I gained 30Lbs since November, I was diagnosed with IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome), & I have high cholesterol. I am 27 now and am in need of advice.
I am on meds for a 4th, non related, disability that causes weight gain, but the side effects keep me from doing physical activity on a frequent basis.
A nutritionist is not currently within my budget (since some cost up to $ 100 a session) and the gym trainers are a rip off.
Since I can’t work out, I wanna cut back on my unhealthy diet & eating out a lot.
Does anyone know what I can order or buy at the store that is good for IBS or to cut down on calories, seeing as I am unable to cook by myself due to all 4 medical conditions?
I gave the background info, but really need a lot of advice to keep the weight down in the diet area.
Anyone who knw’s nutrition ideas plz answer.
I forgot to mention, my medical disability is Neurological, which is why I don’t trust my gas stove, boiling water, or sharp/heavy objects. I live on my own tho, but just eat out a lot cuz that’s all I seem to be able to do. Ironically, I am Italian and great chef, but I can’t put it to use very often.
Also, I lost weight on Nutrisystem last year, but it was seemingly a “quick fix” and it came right back on, even when I wrote down a daily calorie intake (after I stopped). I am 6 feet tall and weight 234Lbs. Strangely, I hold my weight well since people think I weigh around 180 or so. I was an athlete for years, so I guess my core is muscle. I wanna lose around 30 Lbs all together.

Answer by Wolfie Do a Google search on IBS books, then follow the diet suggestions. There are some amazing (and encouraging) books out there by people who had this themselves!!

Question by IAdoreBeingAMomTo4: How do I help my niece? (I am her guardian.) She has recently been diagnosed with severe…..read the rest!!!
and permanent irritable bowel syndrome. This means that often she has diarrhea or constipation. She is eight years old so she is perfectly potty trained. When she is constipated, the doctor told me to help her by “forcing” her bowels to work without medicine or laxatives or any sort or adding more fiber to her diet, because her condition is not dietary. I have been told that this can be done by pushing on her feet or having her poop in a hole, where she can squat. How can I help her?
PLEASE NO STUPID ANSWERS!! SHE HAS ALREADY BEEN TO THE DOCTOR, HOW ELSE WOULD SHE HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED? BE NICE, OR I WILL REPORT YOU!!!
Does the foot-pushing and squatting help or not?
