Question by : Could I possibly know just days after conception that I am pregnant?
11 days ago my husband and I had sex and used a vcf spermicidal film, followed the directions, and afterward when I went into the bathroom, there was the film on the toilet paper. Contraceptive FAIL. So the next day I started my period, we had sex again a few times toward the end of my period, once with a condom, once with a spermicidal gel. Ended my period, more sex with gel.

Anyway at this point I cannot tell if I’m psyching myself out, or if these symptoms are legit. So far I have tingling in my nipples, and labias. I have had an aching like bloating about to start my period bloating. Although im 19 days off from starting my period. I’ve had lower back pain, i work in a cubicle for 10 hours a day and now its TORTURE. Im standing, sitting, pacing, stretching. I sleep maybe 4 good hours a night, nap whenever possible, but am sort of tired more than i should be. I get random waves of nausea, sometimes they make me gag. I have been craving apple juice, nestle drumsticks, and peanut brittle. My breasts are slightly larger but dont hurt. And I have been crying at random. I really cried at a pillsbury commercial (dont judge me, it was touching) and (sorry) i have been super gassy.

I took a pregnancy test, it came back negative. Thats to be expected when you take it 23 days before your period.

So serious opinions please, could i be having pregnancy symptoms this soon, or do i have vertigo/pulled muscle/irritable bowel syndrome/ random girly part tingling/ seasonal depression all at once?

Most of those symptoms don’t occur untill farther one, like two months in. My doctor told me before that if you worry about it enough your body can start acting like it’s real. I guess all you can really do is wait it out and if your period is a no-show, take another test.

Question by Candy: My stomach has been hurting for 5 days, & it gets worse & worse each day. What should I do?
1st 3 days were pain, gas & bloating. & I couldn’t make any bowel movements. Yesterday, it started hurting worse, & I finally made the bowel movements, but the stools were hard, painful & big, & I was bleeding. Last night here on Y!A, someone told me that I might have an anal fissure. It felt like my rectum AND vagina were going to both split in half. 1 of the bowels was THAT big & hard.

Today, it got worse. Worse stomach pains, feeling sicker after eating, I made hard bowels @ least 3 times, & the 4th time, it was hard, & then finally diarrhea-like. It felt like I started to feel Irritable Bowel Syndrome symptoms again, & I was feeling nauseated. After eating breakfast, my stomach was hurting so badly that I had trouble breathing & felt like I was going to throw up.

As of now, I feel pressure & pulse-like pain in my rectum (it feels like gas pressure), & earlier today, I felt the hemorrhoids, as usual. I had to cancel my doctor’s appointment today. I was afraid to eat lunch, & I’m afraid to eat dinner. My stomach doesn’t hurt as much now, but I also keep burping. I hope I don’t vomit. I’m lying down in the bed on my laptop. I feel SO bad right now. My anus feels weird and painful, & I feel like I can barely get up and do anything.
My stomach was RUMBLING earlier, feeling like an earthquake.

Question by wonder.bread11: Is there a web site that would give a menu for 7 days (for my grandchildren’s visit.?
I’m sure there are organizations who feed meals 3 times a day. It would be so much easier to just copy a week’s menu from something like that. My grandson already has Irritable Bowel Syndrome. They eat lots of sugar – I want to try and get as many fruits and vegetables into them while they’re here. My grandson is 11 and eats an unbelievable amount of food although he’s not heavy. Any suggestions – or websites? Thank you!!

Answer by Amy
I encourage you to stick as much as possible to the kinds of things they like to eat while trying to sneak in as many fruits and veggies as possible and cut out the sugar. You can probably make healthier versions of whatever they like. I have a few suggestions. You can’t completely change their diet in 7 days. My grandma thought I was spoiled so whenever she got the chance she would try to discipline me the way she thought I should be. It only made me terrified of my grandma.

Healthy Spaghetti and Meatballs
2 12-ounce to 14-ounce jars of your favorite marinara sauce
2 slices of your favorite sandwich bread
3/4 cup water
1/2 pound ground hamburger 93% lean
1/2 pound ground turkey
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese, plus more for serving
1 large egg
1/2 small onion, finely minced
1 Tbls parsley
1 tsp basil
1 tsp oregano
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
8 ounces whole-wheat spaghetti

1. Heat marinara sauce in a large, wide pot over medium heat. Cover to prevent splattering.

2. Remove crusts from bread, place bread in a medium bowl and pour water over. Let sit 10 minutes, and gently squeeze out excess liquid. Put bread in a large bowl; discard water.

3. Add the ground meats, cheese, egg, onion, parsley, basil, oregano, and red pepper flakes to bowl with bread. Gently toss to combine, maintaining a light touch to keep air in the meatballs (don’t squish the meat too much, or you’ll end up with tough meatballs). Roll the meat mixture in your hands to create meatballs slightly larger than a golf ball.

4. Remove marinara sauce from heat to prevent splattering, and gently drop the meatballs in the warm sauce. Return tomato sauce to medium-low heat, bring to a simmer and cook, covered, until meatballs have cooked through, about 30 minutes.

5. Cook pasta according to package directions, toss with marinara sauce and top with meatballs.

Chicken Pot Pie – We love this one. It doesn’t take any time to throw together and it’s delicious. Be sure to read the note at the end or the crust may not turn out well.
2 cps cooked chicken chunks – I usually use chicken leftover from a previous meal
¾ cp frozen corn
½ can green beans
¾ cp frozen sliced carrots
¼ cp frozen peas
1 jar Heinz Chicken Gravy

1 ¾ cp Bisquick
1 egg
2/3 cp milk

Preheat the oven to 375*

In a med bowl stir together the chicken chunks, corn, green beans, carrots and gravy. Set aside. 2 ½ cps of any fresh, canned or frozen veggies can be used.

In another bowl mix the Bisquick with the egg and milk. Stirring just till blended.

Spray a deep dish pie pan with cooking spray. (It can also be cooked in 4 smaller single serving dishes, 10-12 oz size) Spoon the chicken gravy mixture into the prepared pan. Spoon the Bisquick mixture over the filling.

IMPORTANT DO NOT try to put the top crust it in the middle and spread it out. It will be too thick in the middle to cook through. You must put spoonfuls around the edges, maybe an inch or so apart and then a spoonful or two in the middle. Spread it out as evenly as possible. Bake 25 min or until the crust is golden brown.

Oven Chicken Nuggets – these are way better than fast food nuggets or store bought frozen ones
2 skinless boneless chicken breasts
1 ½ cps Sour Cream and Chive Potato Chips, crushed
1 cp Ranch dressing

Preheat oven to 350*. Trim chicken breasts of all fat and cut into chunks. Put the Ranch dressing in a baggie, add the chicken chunks – seal and make sure the chicken is covered in dressing. Let it marinade for 10 min, turn over for another 10 min,

Put the chips in a baggie and smash as fine as you like. Remove the chicken from the dressing and toss it in with the chips. Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray.

Remove the chicken from the chips and place the chicken chunks on the baking sheet. Bake 20-25 min or until chicken is done through.

Oven Fries – I love fries and these are much healthier than those from your favorite fast food place but just as delicious – better than some.

2 med baking potatoes (great with yams also)
½ tablespoon olive oil
1 pinch white sugar – helps with browning
1 pinch ground cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon Salad Supreme

Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Line a baking sheet with foil, and coat well with cooking spray. Scrub potatoes well, peel or not as you like and cut into 1/2 inch thick fries. Place cut fries in a lrg bowl.

Sprinkle with the olive oil, sugar and seasonings, toss to coat all fries evenly. Spread on baking sheet in one layer.

After 20 minutes, remove from oven and turn fries with a pancake turner. This will help them brown evenly and keep them from sticking. Bake another 10 minutes, until potatoes are tender and browned. Serve immediately.

Question by Adam: Could an increase in fiber make me go from having a BM once every two days to having 2 BM’s a day?
Up until August I was having one comfortable bowel movement a day, then I guess my high fat diet took its toll on me and got me constipated to the point where I’d have a straining BM every other day. This lasted through November. I started eating more fruits and veggies within this time period, and in December I got a stomach virus that gave me bad diarrhea. Since then, I’ve been going, for the most part, twice a day, though sometimes I still strain. I eat one or two salads a day (w/ cucumbers and broccoli) and usually have either an apple or a banana. Is this okay? Does irritable bowel syndrome cause changing bowel habits? I have been stressed out lately. Also, how constipated or how much diarrhea would I have if I had a colorectal tumor? Just wondering…

BTW I’m an 18 year old male w/ no family history of colorectal cancer. I work out every other day and a month ago my blood work came back totally normal.

Question by filiplevaic: Can 3×600 mg(10 days in row) and fast food together damage intestine microflora and kills probiotics?
Hi!
I had acute gastritis in July 2007..and I was ok until April 2008.. Before that I went to McDonalds almost every day(period from February to April 2008) and I took this Ibuprofen for 10 days(3×600mg every day,for 10 days in row).. I think this combination of drugs and fast food damaged my microflora and killed good bacteria, and that is why I feel nausea in lower part of stomach..Hope my english fine
Teo from Croatia

Answer by rk s
It does not appear that your intestinal flora has been disturbed, otherwise it would have resulted in loose motions.Ibuprofen is a non steroidal anti inflammatory – analgesic agent & is soft on stomach. You have taken the optimal dose and howsoever well tolerated drug it may be,it is bound to cause some gastric intolerance in such a high dose and irritate the gastric mucosa, specially if taken before meals. As a result you are feeling nausea as a side effect which will disappear with in a couple of days after stopping the therapy.Take curd or yogurt to implant the good bacteria. If feeling very uncomfortable, take one tab.of domperidone once a day for 2-3 days.Your english is fine and so is your stomach.
