Question by L: Best over the counter medication for IBS?
I have been having stomach issues for the past three months (Painful cramps and gas, diarrhea, and extreme bloating) and I think I may have IBS. I have not been diagnosed because I have yet to see a doctor. I am in college and don’t have a permanent doctor right now, but I have done a lot of research on my symptons and they all seem to be explained by irritable bowel syndrome.

I was wondering which over the counter medication would be best for treating my symptons especially those of bloating and cramps. I’d heard of Avon’s “Flat Stomach” and Digestive Advantage. Does anyone know which is best?

There are many people who got great results from taking the Reliv Nutritional Supplements. They are all natural and helps the body to heal itself.
I can connect you with other ladies who had IBS and have had tremendously wonderful results.
All the best

Question by TP: I think I have Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Is Buscopan Plus over the counter?

Best answer:

Answer by sillyrat
Buscopan is an OTC – over the counter drug. I’ve taken it before for alleviationg stomach gas by expelling it. But since I also IBS (where bloating due to gas is also a symptom) which I believe is a result of different causes in different persons, buscopan cannot almost solve the problem. You need the help of a good gastroenterologist or a naturopath to correct the symptoms and if you are lucky (IBS is unfortunately difficult to diagnose and heal if causes are not identified!) identify the cause/s.

Only medical professionals (Doctors, PAs, NPs) can write prescriptions in the military. If the medicine you want is over-the-counter, check with the local military pharmacy. If they carry it, you should be able to get it from them at no cost with no prescription.
