Question by luvtropics: Red streaks of blood in stool – but colonoscopy clear? Help!?
I’m in my early thirties. My doc did a colonoscopy a month ago and it came back clear with no abnormalities. He decided my symptoms of urgent loose stools/diarrhea were likely IBS (irritable bowel syndrome). This past week, I have had A LOT of gas and abdominal pressure, and my bowel movements have been really soft (like wet concrete mix), and today I noticed what looked like two small red streaks of blood in the stool. Nothing when I wiped, and I am not menstruating. I am going in for ultrasound of my abdominal area this week. My mind is at peace with a clear colonoscopy, but I’m very worried. Anyone ever hear of this – any experiences? Thanks for any input you can give :)

Question by lauren: small, clear, scaly organism in toilet with loose bowel movement – do I have a parasite!?
I have had constipation and bloating issues for a year and a half – my doctors think I have irritable bowel syndrome. After passing a small, loose bowel movement today, I noticed what appeared to be a small, translucent, scaly organism (appeared similar to a mini mini shrimp or something along those lines?) with small antennae in the toilet bowl. This is the first time anything like this has occurred and I am freaked out. I have a doctor’s appointment lined up, but this is grossing me out – do I have some sort of parasitic infection?!

ETA: I did have some yellowish diarrhea the day before yesterday. Have not been out in the sun.

I’m not a doctor but you need to put down the laptop and go to the hospital and take care of that.

Question by Amanda L: can i use an antibiotic to clear a break out?
I think i probably broke out due to a hormone spike, but I’ve never had one this bad. I had an antibiotic prescription of Aclavulanate left from a cat bite and wondered if it would help reduce the break out faster or not? (I don’t get yeast infections from them and i take probiotics with any antibiotic) would that type of antibiotic even help? Nothing topical is working :(

She is a calico about 11 years old. She has a very weak digestive track and has to eat only good digestive cat food. I was going to try to sprinkle a little probiotics on her food or maybe even try some Activia (if she will eat it) She’s very finiky about food. What is wrong with my Sami??? Help
