Question by grizzliesgurl: IBS? Gall Bladder problems?
I am really getting quite tired of being a guinea pig for the doctors. I have had so many tests done in the past three or four years. The doctors keep saying it is probably just irritable bowel syndrome but I think they are wrong. I have serious stomach issues some days I have diarhea for no reason what so ever I have tracked my diet, I have given stool samples. We have taken blood tests, I have had upper gi’s, lower gi’s, ultrasounds, hida scans, even a colonoscopy. I am 27 years old and my stomach is driving me nuts, this last week I started having severe back pains on the right side of my back toward the middle of the back. I don’t know what to do anymore. I need to somehow find answers…
Bentyl didn’t help I have recently tried Levsin which helped some with the pain but the extreme diarhea is another big problem.
Thanks so much for the info I would love it if anyone can also suggest something for the diarhea part of my problem it is by far the bigger distraction I work in a call center I can grin and bear the pain but I cannot work from the bathroom. Some of my bathroom trips can take as long as an hour if I let them (I am being very serious).

you need a specific tests for liver disease, especially hepatitis c!

with hcv, a standard liver panel is not always indicative of a problem as with this liver disease, your alt and ast levels can appear normal. sometimes it can wax and wane as well.

it took 13 years for them to find out i had hcv because my alt and ast levels for the most part appeared normal.

get tested for hepatitis c and make sure you tell them or print this out about the alt and ast levels. chances are you have at least one risk factor for having hcv…even as little as getting your nails done.

p.s. gallbladder issues is indicative of liver disease as well. the pain your experiencing could also be related to liver disease-even if it makes your back hurt! when the liver is inflammed it presses on the organs and this is why your feeling pain.

yogurt helps bladder infections because it has good bacteria. that good bacteria eats away the bad bacteria. however if you have a bladder infection, it is always best to drink water to flush it out. also drink cranberry juice as it does work because of its acids. bacteria can’t live in acidic places. you can also try cranberry pills which also work well. probiotics do not cause bladder infections but if you are on some antibiotic, it might work against it. seek advice from your doctor.
