Irritable Bowel Syndrome Treatment

Question by TerriersRock: Pregnant with IBS….scared and need advice? Please help (Scared of Ectopic Pregnancy being an issue)?
Okay so I found out yesterday that I am pregnant. Which is great but I’m scared. You see I’m having pain on my right side. And normally I get my IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) pains there but now I’m scared that even though its in the same place as the IBS pains that it might be an ectopic pregnancy. They did blood work today. I’m just praying its the IBS. anyways have any of you ever wondered? Or thought that?

I shouldn’t be so worried but I’m scared. I’ve got pain in my lower right abodmen and back (where I normally get my IBS pains….but I’m not constipated right now or anything.)

I’m pretty scared

My symptoms are: Missed period (with light spotting on day of expected period)
Nausea
Slight back pain
Gas

Sadly my blood pressure is a little high right now because I’m so nervous about everything at the moment….anxious (which causes IBS)
I just want to be able to be happy about this, instead of scared

If it isn’t the IBS it could just be round ligament pain. I got it pretty regularly in the first half of my pregnancy, always on the right side, but now it’s much less. It’s pretty painful though. If you’re really scared, go to the hospital. Better safe then sorry. Good luck!!!

What’s your experience? I suffer OCD, Anxiety, depression, & Tourette’s. Certain medications for these illnesses bring on either more illnesses, or aches & pains. My doc told me that anxiety is why I’m suffering Irritable Bowel Syndrome. It creeps up on you unexpectedly, & your stomach starts hurting worse & WORSE by the second, & then your digestive system is backed up because you’re constipated with hard stools, & once those come out, it’s diarrhea. 1 time it was so bad that my system was so stopped up that I had to vomit because I was so constipated & bloated. (Sorry to be so graphic, but some people don’t know what IBS feels like. That’s why I’m explaining in detail so you can understand.) You sometimes wonder if that’s the last moments of your life when experiencing this. & That’s so painful it’s NO joke! If I have a task I have to perform, & this pops up, people think I’m a hypochondriac faking for attention, when I’m not. This IBS is DEBILITATING.

look online for natural treatments for your bodies problems
natural things do not cause more complications, like some of the medicines (there are enzymes and probiotics to help with the bowel problems, eat fruit and vegetables, drink lots of water
for anxiety maybe vitamins and omega 3

I’ve been being bullied and since yesterday I feel like electricity is flowing through my hands, I feel dizzy and sleepy, I have been having frequent urination and Irritable Bowel Syndrome, I feel depressed as well….

Do I need to see a doctor?
I haven’t told me parents I’ve been feeling these things

hey everyone. Right well i dont want to sound deluded or anything or maybe i wont, who knows. The last time i had sex was back in jan/feb 2009, now its the end of march 2010. Is there anyway that i can be pregnant or is that too long? If im correct it nows gone over 11/12 months. My belly has kind of stayed the same, it nots overly big at all just looks abit bloated and pops out abit. Its still soft. I took a pregnancy test a couple weeks ago and it came out one red line and im not to sure what that means haven given no instructions. My period came last week and im feeling to test again after my period just to confirm fully. How look after my period can i take a test??? im just worried because i get bloated and have cramps, spasms etc but i also have irritable bowel syndrome and these symptoms are apparently common with it :S thanks…. x

you’re not pregnant. Sperm can only last up to a week inside the vagina and if you have also bieng having your periods that is another indication you’re NOT pregnant.

Question by Amanda: Can anyone help me with suggestions to eat healthy while being a picky eater?
I’m 18 and a very picky eater. I don’t mean to be I just don’t like much. I have some health problems what would be a lot better if I ate better. I have irritable bowel syndrome, eczema, and keratosis pilaris which all benefit from a healthy diet. I do not like friut except apples without the peel and maybe a banana occasionally. I am not a fan of vegetables either. I can eat corn if it is cream corn(added sugar) or carrots(in roast potatoes and carrots which has lots of seasoning). I do like red meat a chicken. I also am I fan of starch ie: bread and potatoes. I really would like to eat healthy I just don’t know how to with my pickyness. Oh and I cannot have a lot of dairy products due to IBS. If anyone could give me some ideas I would be really grateful!

do you like vegetable soup? you could make a stew with stew beef and only the veggies that you like, then season the h*ll out of it.
