Irritable Bowel Syndrome Treatment

We have a doc appointment on Thursday and I plan on asking the doc but I wondered if probiotics would be safe to help my 2.5 month old with his tummy/gas trouble or is he too young? Anyone have any experience with this, if so what did you use? Thanks!

I have a 5 week old baby that is very fussy he is taking axid for his reflux but he is still really fussy. I have reading about probiotics and am wondering is they are safe and in what amounts should they be given.
