The health shop is not qualified to tell you anything. Check with your gastroenterologist first. I have two hiatal hernias and do not hesitate to ask questions. It can save you a lot of trouble.

Question by purplekbear2004: i was diagnosed with acid reflex and irritable bowel syndrome, still feel wierd?
i was diagnosed supposedly with ibs and acid reflex. the doc that saw me was a nurse practictioner. she examined me and kept leaving to go talk to the lady that was training her. she couldnt figure out what it was so she sent me to get a couple xrays of my stomach. i suggested to her that maybe it was ibs cuz thats what my mom suggested it sounded like. after the xrays the doc said there was alot of gas bubbles. so they diagnosed me with ibs and acid reflex. my question is, with either of those problems, would i stay bloated for a long time? or get nauseous alot? ive gained weight too which doesnt make sense cuz i dont hardly eat right now cuz my stomach hurts so bad. any suggestions? i’m only 22 with two kids. and this came on suddenly out of nowhere.my friend thinks i’m pregnant, the test came up negative. i dont know. there’s no history in my family of ibs either

Start incorporating fiber and water in your diet. If you have available in your area grocery store, buy Nature’s Own Double Fiber Wheat Bread and Wasa Fiber (dark green label) Crackers. The following will help as digestive aids eat fresh or dried papaya because papaya contains an important digestive enzyme, eat yogurt daily (Activia), drink Celestial Seasonings Honey Vanilla Chamomile Tea which also has ingredients that will help. Make a point to count your fiber grams daily because you need a minimum of 25 aim for more (30 grams) gradually and be sure to drink water with the fiber.

Good luck and hope you feel better soon!

Question by Mike Jones: I have irritable bowel syndrome, acid reflux, and bad social anxiety…?
Are these all tied together? And what can I do to get better. What causes what? I want to change my life.

actually, they are linked. it’s similar to how some people with asthma also suffer from allergic rhinitis or atopic dermatitis. how are they linked? excessive stress/anxiety has been linked to increased incidence of peptic ulcer disease and acid rflux. your anxiety may not be the sole cause of your reflux, but it may exacerbate it. stress and anxiety can also trigger symptoms of IBS. the most common mental ailment that people with IBS suffer is generalized anxiety disorder. IBS is related to an immune dysfunction which may be triggered/exacerbated by stress or anxiety.
