The reason I’m looking into it, is because my forearms hurt so much for no reason, and now my inner thighs are hurting today so bad I can’t walk right, but there’s no real reason for it. I’m so confused.
justmeinthisworld- I’m sorry if those aren’t the symptoms you’re familiar with, I got these from WebMD.com. That doesn’t mean they are right, but I still wish you would have just answered the Q.
Thanks to everyone that has, you’ve all been really, really helpful.

Question by Andy F: What can I do about my mom whom I suspect has Munchausen’s Syndrome?
Ever since I was a child, my mom was always either sick, couldn’t work because she was hurt, “raped”, and “beaten”, even when there is clearly no one else around.
When my brother was born, he was in the hospital a lot until he was about 12 either with surgeries, asthma, etc. Looking back, I don’t remember him ever actually having any asthma attacks or anything outside a common cold. (At which he would always be rushed to the ER)
She is constantly going on about how she can’t be blamed for her behavior when she acts like a maniac because she has bi-polar disorder, is manic depressive, (which I thought were one and the same?) and has borderline personality disorder. I am constantly finding other people’s pills, sometimes narcotic, but most recently my grandfather’s pills for his stomach problems. She more recently claims to have GERD, acid reflux, and irritable bowel syndrome….you get the idea. I know the difference between hypochondrias and munchausens…and I whole heartedly believe this is the latter, especially since she threw herself down the stairs, went to the ER, and every time she was asked about it, the number of broken bones multiplied… Now I am worried about her having an episode and harming my 6 month old. I can’t get rid of her because my grandfather owns the house we are staying in and he told her she could move in with us, and we cant afford to move out, even with my husband and I both working. How do I deal with this? Frankly, my brother (who is now 16) and I both believe she needs to be committed…permanently. She is getting money from the government for a feigned disability and all 600 of it always goes to drugs and alcohol. We simply can’t take this anymore. How, exactly, can we have her protected from herself? (my grandpa is her proxy or whatever- he gets her money and is supposed to take care of her with it, but he is always stupid enough to give it to her)
Daniel, you’re an idiot. FYI, we were paying full rent here and we paid up for a year. I’m in college and my husband and I both make minimum wage. Then he let them move in and wouldn’t let us kick them out. when we asked for our money back, he refused to give it back and we cant prove we paid him because it turns out he wasn’t reporting our rent as income. we thought we could trust my grandfather but i guess he’s just as much an ass as you.
Look, I came on here to find out what I can do about my mom before she hurts more people that she already has. We are a hard working couple, and if we were so irresponsible, we would have aborted the pregnancy and went on partying and acting like your typical 21 year old. Seriously, if you are so much better than me and have this great job, then why are you on here trolling all day? Or is your excuse that you don’t work today? Get lost. If I want the opinion of someone who thinks they are high and mighty, even though they are probably sitting in mommy’s basement playing Warcraft, I’ll send you a note. This is a serious question, and I need to know what I can do before someone ends up dead.
And as far as my living situation- I wouldn’t even try to sue without documentation. It wouldn’t fly in court. I simply don’t feel like I should have to move out of a place I rightfully occupy. We are saving to move out, but my mom is my mom, no matter where I live. I can’t just leave her on her own

Answer by Daniel Sounds like you need to stop making excuses and move out. It amazes me that you can’t afford to move out, yet you get married and have a child. She’s your mom, kid. Quit being such a stuck up. Perhaps she grew you up wrong because now you can’t even move out on your own despite the money you get from both yourself and your husband. Do the world a favor and don’t reproduce ever again.
Edit: Yeah, I’m an idiot alright. At least I don’t work at minimum wage, have children, and then come on here and complain about my living situation and blame my mom, my grandfather, and everyone else in my life but myself for my living situation. Don’t expect any pity from me with your sob story about going to school and crap. There’s a difference between growing up and being responsible and growing up and acting childish making foolish mistakes then telling people its their fault that you’re like this now and you have “no choice.” I would not be a least bit surprise to see you going to court and suing your grandfather and mother for the money they owe you. You make me sick, you pile of worthless crap.
Edit: Okay after reading that maybe I was a little harsh. Sorry for that. Okay, you want help? I can offer some sort of advice. You say you already paid full year right? So you really can’t just move out since you already paid up. As for your mom, sometimes you can’t teach an old dog new tricks. All you can do is just live with it. With that said, perhaps you should rearrange around times. Perhaps your husband can stay at home to watch the baby, and you stay at home another time to watch the baby? Just a thought on that. As for getting her help, well that’s up to her to get help. Perhaps she will get help but just to get pity from others, and in reality just not get help. So I would say since she’s living with her parent, you should accept that as it’s okay. Once that goes out, perhaps seek options to set up a nursing home.

Question by LuLuBranam: How to Stop worrying, about a serious problem?
I’ve been having alot of stomach problems lately! Such as: bloating, stomach cramping and the worst of all excessive gas. I feel as if I’m under a great deal of stress and anxiety, because I’ve moved to a different state, and the transition has been horrible. The excessive gas is really embarrassing. It has caused me to worry all of the time around my peers. I believe they may notice the excessive gas, and think I smell bad(caused by the gas). My mother and I believe I suffer from I.B.S(Irritable bowel syndrome). Which has flared up and caused horrible symptoms in the past few months, because of all of the changes. I feel like people will judge me because of this problem, which I have no control over. What should I do to just relax, so that my health can improve?

Question by sangichan: does anyone have any ideas about what this might be?
i’m 16 years old and have had stomach problems all my life. i was diagnosed with CVS (compulsive vomiting syndrome) and IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) i’m on a the following medications:
-loestrin 24 (for anemia)
-zoloft (depression)
-wellbutrin (ADHD)
-librax (stomach)
-vyvanse (ADHD)
-aciphex (stomach)
-zophran (stomach)
-symbacort (asthma)
-chlortrimaton (allergies)
my stomach has been doing fairly well for the past year or so, then all of a sudden it got REALLY bad. i’ve tried candied ginger, nux vomica, etc… nothing is helping my GI says he doesn’t know what’s going on but whatever it is he can’t help it.
if it matters i’m 16, 135 lbs. and 5′ 5″
some preservatives make me sick…
i have been tested for and and been negative for:
cancer
glucose intolerance
celliakes (however the hell you spell it)
lactose intolerance
ulcers
i hate tried both dairy and gluten free diets. no dice.
the meds were prescribed by a general practitioner, my GI, and my psychologist.
the psychologist makes sure nothing interacts with each other negatively.
i’m currently in the process of getting off many of the medications and am making great progress.
i meditate at least 2 times a week and do yoga as well.
also i’ve tested negative for Crohn’s disease.

Question by crazyfool123: Hi….I have a question about identifying blood in stool…?
I have been having changes in my bowel movements during the last week..same symptoms as Irritable Bowel Syndrome and have been going through anxiety and depression.
Recently, after a bowel movement, I found 3 tiny bright red spots on the tissue paper… but the stool looks normal but I’ve been having bowel movements more frequently but it looks like movements are starting to go back to normal.
Thanks

Answer by Anama You could have a hemorrhoid or a tiny fissure. If this keeps up, you need to talk to your doctor.
