Question by relei01: What Do you think is my condition?
What Do you think is my condition???

I’m a female age of 21. Last December year of 2007 I was admitted at the Hospital in Philippines due to not defecating for two weeks. I undergo colonoscopy, then my doctor diagnose that I have a IBS or Irritable Bowel Syndrome. She gave me different kinds of medicine to take for almost 2 months. And 1 of those medicine that she prescribe is Laxoberal, its a Laxative. Weeks of using it, seems that I become independent to this drug. and weeks passed and the medicine has no effect to my vowel movement.

Month of February this year. I developed hematoma in my body especially to both of my arms. Then I consulted another doctor and he’s a Gastroenetologist also. Coz I believe that my Hematomas occur because i’m not defecating. Then he prescribed a lot of medicine and some of those medicines is the same with my other Doctor, so I told him that. so He changed the Laxatives… For 2 weeks I took those laxatives bot no more effect. He told me to go to a Hematologists coz he suspects that my Hematomas is due to blood problems…maybe Leukemia

so I consulted a Hematologists, then she examined my blood and the results is i’m just a low blood or something then when she read the diagnose of my 1st doctor that I have an IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome), she told me that she believed that the Doctor who gave that result is wrong….

so now, i’m really confused…. The First Doctor, said that I have IBS, 2nd Doctor, said nothing…. and the 3rd doctor said that the 1st doctor is wrong!!!

now, i’m a little scared coz i tried dulcolax as well as fiber diet, i include fiber powder into my drinks… eat lot of fruits…and vegetables and seems that I still don’t defecate. so my aunt whose a nurse gave a Milk of magnesia… I took already 2 bottles and it seems effective… i just took it every other day or every two days…coz I don’t want to be independent to that medicine.. But in my Third Bottle it seems that I don’t defecate again! and now i’m developing Hematomas in my arms…

Please I really really need your opinion

I would think.. hmmm… vitamin d defiency.

It would could cause the hemotoma, and definately cause IBS.

I would honestly really recommend (And this sounds disgusting and it doesn’t taste pretty) taking a tablespoon of coconut oil a day. Along with the vitamin d, it will help with both of your problems…

Hope it helps you and God bless…

Question by jr2007: HELP PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!!?
I have been recovering from the Flu since Saturday. I first got a sore throat, then on Sunday I got everything else while I still had a sore throat. I have had nausea and no appetite whatsoever since Sunday (In addition, I have irritable bowel syndrome). I have been drinking a lot of liquids, but not really eating a lot. I have had soup for the first 2 days, and some bread and crackers. Nothing else because my stomach was feeling bad. Just yesterday, I started to force myself to eat because my parents told me too. I HATE FORCING MYSELF TO EAT WHEN I DON’T WANT TO!!! PLEASE, ANY SUGGESTIONS would be helpful. And no, no protein shakes or anything like that. I have been drinking two ensure’s a day… And the day before yesterday, I fainted getting out of the shower… I am on the z-pack as medication… I know it’s complicated, any suggestions please? Some symptoms are better, but I feel like I am going to die. I still have no appetite and some nausea. Help, please.

Do you not feel like fruit either?
Maybe try to keep eating soup but different kinds each time like tomato soup or something.
If I were you, I would try to force myself eating food as well but after eating maybe go for a jog as you would feel a lot better. Just try to eat as much as you can but if you really dont want to then stick to eating soup or porriage.

By vitamins i mean probiotics.

Answer by majgross
Not while you are in BCT or AIT. After your initial entry training, as long as these are legal vitamins, no one will care.

Question by grizzliesgurl: IBS? Gall Bladder problems?
I am really getting quite tired of being a guinea pig for the doctors. I have had so many tests done in the past three or four years. The doctors keep saying it is probably just irritable bowel syndrome but I think they are wrong. I have serious stomach issues some days I have diarhea for no reason what so ever I have tracked my diet, I have given stool samples. We have taken blood tests, I have had upper gi’s, lower gi’s, ultrasounds, hida scans, even a colonoscopy. I am 27 years old and my stomach is driving me nuts, this last week I started having severe back pains on the right side of my back toward the middle of the back. I don’t know what to do anymore. I need to somehow find answers…
Bentyl didn’t help I have recently tried Levsin which helped some with the pain but the extreme diarhea is another big problem.
Thanks so much for the info I would love it if anyone can also suggest something for the diarhea part of my problem it is by far the bigger distraction I work in a call center I can grin and bear the pain but I cannot work from the bathroom. Some of my bathroom trips can take as long as an hour if I let them (I am being very serious).

you need a specific tests for liver disease, especially hepatitis c!

with hcv, a standard liver panel is not always indicative of a problem as with this liver disease, your alt and ast levels can appear normal. sometimes it can wax and wane as well.

it took 13 years for them to find out i had hcv because my alt and ast levels for the most part appeared normal.

get tested for hepatitis c and make sure you tell them or print this out about the alt and ast levels. chances are you have at least one risk factor for having hcv…even as little as getting your nails done.

p.s. gallbladder issues is indicative of liver disease as well. the pain your experiencing could also be related to liver disease-even if it makes your back hurt! when the liver is inflammed it presses on the organs and this is why your feeling pain.

What do you think? Answer below!

Question by dancinchef: I have bloating and slow digestion. It can change the way my body looks and feels in hours.?
I have tried nexium, probiotics, and a limited food sensitivity diet. Is there some help out there in the houston area?
i eat healthy no sodas ,only water, no red meat, no wheat or gluten, and only stevia as a sweetner.

Best answer:

Answer by Stephanie
Well nexium cancels out the probiotic so if you took them at the same time it will not work at all. Plus you have to use the probiotic or a digestive enzyme for a while to see a difference… like weeks.
