Question by Larissa: What vitamins/mineral supplements should I take?
I’m an 18 yr old, a woman, I have a family medical history littered diabetes and varied types of cancer, bad circulation, and may possibly be lactose intolerant. I want something to complete my lacking diet and possibly something preventative too. I hate taking pills so I’d prefer powders, but I’ll get over it. I’m open to probiotics, so a couple different things is ok, don’t need a cure all magic pill. Just some suggestions, thanks.

Magnesium supplements would probably help out with combating or preventing diabetes by regulating your blood pressure and healthy glucose levels. Probiotics should help out with any stomach/digestive problems you may be experiencing. I’ll post a couple links so you can read up on some of the benefits of taking those vitamins and what exactly they do.

Question by Moth: How do people cope with putting their pet down?
My kitty is 15 and has irritable bowel syndrome and won’t use her litter box. I’ve spent thousands of dollars on this problem and can’t afford the diet or the problems with the mess. She is a happy cat and I can cry for hours at the thought of her going.

During your cat’s life you want your cat to be happy as long as it lives. It’s best to let go of your cat when she’s happy and remember her as a happy cat rather than letting go of her when she’s miserable and sickly. This is the best time and though you maybe sad, you’re lucky to be letting go of her now. To make the uthenization less painful for you and your kitty have a specialist come to your home to put her/him down. This is where your cat is the most happy (after all cats are home based animals) and from experience we all know that cats hate leaving the house to go to the kennel or the vet.
My sympathies are with you, I’ve already had to put down one of my cats. I hope this experience is not too hard on you, and you have to remember that this is the best route for your kitty.

Question by Candice: What specific foods should you stay away from when suffering from bloating, gas and occasion diarrhea?
My daughter is 13 and suffers from, what I believe to be, an Irritable Bowel Syndrome. She has frequent bouts of terrible gas and I would like to know what foods to eliminate from her daily diet. I have already spoke to our family doctor but she didn’t offer much relief except to take her to a specialist which I am doing. In the meantime, any helpful advice would be greatly appecriated. Thank you. :0)

For an irritated bowel, I would suggest avoiding spiced foods. Go with kind of bland food like mashed potatoes. Drink a lot of cranberry juice because that helps with digestion.
Steamed Veggies and oily foods are also a small taboo. Mostly complex foods that have a lot of spices or sauces (and unfortunatly flavor), should be avoided.
I hope I helped a little!!
