Question by : Could This Be A Sign That I Don’t Drink Enough Water?
I use to drink water a lot but lately not as much but still I drink water daily.
For about seven months I’ve had Irritable Bowel Syndrome(IBS) which is a digestive problem where my stomach tends to make loud noises and contractions after eating. I started having this one problem though and it didn’t seem like it would be a symptom of my IBS. Here is the detail:
It is typically after I drink a small amount of water. I can literally feel the water in my stomach. I can feel it when I move and everything. Sometimes out of no where my stomach will make this noise and this weird vibrating feeling. Think of a water bottle filled with water and when you take the lid off and turn it over. You know how the water comes out and air bubbles float to the top and make a flapping kind of noise? That is not only how it sounds, that is how it feels. My stomach literally feels and sounds like a water bottle being turned upside down. When ever I drink a large amount of water, my stomach will have the feeling but not make the sound.
I really don’t know what to think of this. It doesn’t really seem like a symptom of my IBS. Since it changes when I drink larger amounts of water, I started thinking that maybe it’s a sign of dehydration.
Please help, thanks.

Question by : Blood in my stool? Serious?
Last week I went to see a specialist in colon and rectum because I was experiencing discomfort in my rectum and lower abdominal area. I would get stomach pain on my lower right abdominal every time i eat something or whenever I wake up in the morning. Also whenever my bowels are full, i feel a massive pain in my rectum or colon. The doctor did some tests on my rectum and said everything was fine, but that she thinks I have an Irritable Bowel Syndrome, anyway today when I emptied my bowel, I’ve noticed bright red blood in my stool (diarrhea). Is this part of the symptom of IBS? I’m afraid that it could be cancer.
Best answer:
Answer by jad62 Of course, you would. The doctor has no idea what she’s doing or anything else. It could be something as inane as a hemorrhoid. Call your doctor and ask what she wants to do.

Question by : Pain in my right side? (female) help?
So today i have been having a pain in my lower right abdomen. I’m not sure what it is but it kind of is freaking me out lol It’s just like a pain when your muscle has been over worked like in your legs, but i haven’t worked out that part of my body in a few days. Yesterday i worked out my legs for about an hour, but i don’t see how that would effect my stomach. And today and yesterday I have been having a little bit of mucus in my stools which is a symptom of IBS, and i have this symptom from time to time but not often. I’m pretty sure i have IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) so could that be the cause? Any ideas?
Additional Details: 19 years old, female, generally healthy overall 5′6 130lbs
It isn’t a severe pain, it’s dull and achy like when your muscle is pulled and it only hurts if i move a certain way or use my abdominal muscles to get up.

Question by Nikki ツ: Did I answer the question she’s asking?
I have to write 2 paragraphs as a biology assignment, one on how bacteria is helpful to humans and another on how it is harmful. I am not sure if I am answering the question in the best way. Here is the paragraph I wrote on how it is helpful:
Different types of bacteria are helpful to humans, and these bacteria are called Probiotics. One thing probiotics do is help maintain and restore the balance of bacteria. Without this balance, harmful bacteria multiply and eventually take over. Another thing probiotics do is help relieve symptoms of inflammatory bowel diseases, irritable bowl syndrome, calitis, and alcoholic liver disease. There is also evidence that probiotics help prevent certain types of allergies and the risk for colon, liver, and breast cancers.
Best answer:
Answer by Feisty It sounds OK. I’m not sure if your teacher will want you to cite it — especially where you refer to “the evidence …”. What evidence? Where did you find it?

Question by Sophia23: Embarrassing, noisy gas problem. Does anyone else ever have really noisy “wind” that sounds like gun shots? It
is really embarrassing if it happens when in a public toilet. I have a form of irritable bowel syndrome, or so it seems, and I am wondering if that would be a common symptom of that?
Yeah, I know it’s nasty, and would like to hear from other IBS sufferers in particular.
Best answer:
Answer by oldtimekid That’s not a common symptom of IBS (both my mother and brother have it), and I can’t think of any ailment that could cause louder gas.
If you have a lot of gas though, it’s likely that it’s from improper digestion (if it’s not caused by an illness). If you aren’t digesting certain foods well enough, it commonly causes gas. The easiest way to help that would be to take a good enzyme complex to help digest those foods so you don’t get the gas in the first place. Good luck!
