how old are you? if you are below than 45 years old and have no family history of colon cancer the doctor will be very reluctant to refer you for colonoscopy as colon cancer is quite rare in younger people
it could be IBS but you cant really diagnose IBS straight away because it is a diagnosis of exclusion, meaning to say that the doctor will have to outrule every other possible diseases first before making that diagnosis.
its best if you discuss it with your doctor

I do know that holding in your gas and waste can cause hemorrhoids because of the pressure it puts on your bowel.
If you still have a problem, just go to your doctor.
