    yes, that is why I make regular yogurt over buying it at the store–same benefits, less money.

    Any yogurt with active cultures (listed in the ingredients) will have a probiotic effect.

    yes. yes. yes. the main one is Acidophilus whch is a general name for a group of probiotics, often added to milk or sold as a capsule, which contains bacteria which aid in digestion

    NO NO NO.
    THEY DO NOT ALWAYS.
    Probiotics are found in fermented dairy products (as well as other products). also known as cultured dairy products.
    So look for a yougurt label that states it uses cultured dairy…However if it is pasteurized or heat treated all those good bacterias found in cultured dairy are “killed off” so to speak. So make sure the yogurt is labeled with the term “live and active cultures.”
