Can I take probiotics while on antibiotics?
Posted by: Alan in Probiotics, tags: Antibiotics, Probiotics, Take
My stomach is a little upset because I haven’t been eating probiotics when I normally do every day (because I’m on antibiotics.)
I’m wondering if I can eat some Activia while on the antibiotics or if it would negate the effects…
the antibiotics are for a bladder infection, not sure if that matters.
Thanks! :]

Yes, I have done it and I have had doctors and pharmacists recommend it. I would just not take them both at the same time. It can really help with the cramping and problems antibiotics can cause.

A big YES!!! We all do it in our household and have been for years. Best to get the kind that needs refrigeration as it’s the freshest. Activa will also work! Very healthy for you and will not affect the antibiotics but replace healthy flora in the intestines that the antibiotic takes out and also will make your stomach feel soothed!! Hope you feel better!

Call your pharmacist to ask, just to be on the safe side. He’s your best resouce when it comes to drugs and their interactions with various foods.
