how safe is Probiotics OMX capsugel in toddlers?

My 2 1/2 yrs old baby is very much constipated, we have tried several attempts to help him such as shifting of milk, use of laxatives , intake of yougurt, yakult, cereals , etc. but it doesn’t work that much. Usually it would take 3-4 days before he can finally release his poo. It’s very alarming. Just want to know if someone out there have use this probiotics OMX to their toddler with the same problem as mine. I’m planning to use this for my son.

There are a few points that I think need to be clarified for a good answer on this one, so I’ll try to address each one.
First, Probiotics OMX does seem to be safe for children to take based on a few different website’s information, but it looks like it may be more powerful than he needs on a regular basis.
Second, when he does “release his poo”, is it hard like a brick or basically soft? If it’s hard like a brick, yeah, that’s a problem that you may need to consult his pediatrician about. If it’s not hard, then you might be giving him too many laxatives. I’ve come across a few people who mistakenly thought they were constipated because it was taking a few days to have a BM. If someone takes laxatives too much or for a long enough time, it can evacuate so much of their bowels that they don’t have enough content in their colon to have a BM for a few days… some people take more laxatives to force a BM and perpetuate that cycle.
In other words, if it’s not hard stools, he probably doesn’t need a laxative.
Third, if you’ve been giving him a lot of Probiotic-rich products and he hasn’t responded to them in the way you want him to, it sounds like he either has enough of the Probiotics or they aren’t strong enough for him. Considering his age, it’s more likely the prior. Granted, if he’s had a lot of antibiotics, that may change it a bit (depending on how much of the yogurt, yakult, etc you’ve given him and for how long).
Feel free to E-mail me if you have more detail on this question and I hope I helped!
