One Response to “Any Information On Cats And Probiotics.?”

Yes. They’re one possible solution for cats with digestive issues such as loose stool or even gas. Per my new vet, you should introduce them slowly. Don’t give the recommended amount immediately and don’t give it every day. Start with just a tiny pinch and offer it 2-3 days per week. If there are no side effects (like gas) then gradually increase the amount, but keep it to the 2-3 days per week schedule.
Don’t use “human” products. They’re not harmful but they don’t have the right type of bacteria.
After you use up one bottle, buy another brand and use that up, and then buy yet another brand.
You want a product that offers several different types of bacteria, and a large number of each.
One good brand is Jarrow’s Petdophilus. This is the one that I’m currently using.
I can’t say that it has improved Poppy’s loose stool problem, because that was actually taken care of when she started eating raw meat. But my vet suggested giving it to both cats, so I am doing so. I haven’t seen any side effects from it.
